Now that you or your organization has finally agreed to do Internet Marketing, you must go back to your board room and brainstorm on a very important question. Who are you?

You must first determine and establish a concrete identity. Something that would represent what service, product or value you will provide. This is establishing your brand.

I've observed successful internet marketing people. I even looked at some of their earliest written work on the internet. These works were done when they were just starting. Guess what I found?

The early written works of these people were scattered on several topics. Worse, during these times there's no indication of consistency on their effort. Usually there were a few written works followed by a long time span of inactivity. Then another written work was submitted on a totally different category.

When talking to these people (most of the times through forum post) they admit that they were not doing quite as well when they started.

My point here is. These people only started seeing success once they were able to determine the core value they want to provide and stuck with providing it until they made real progress.

If you know what you are, you're already halfway to success in Internet Marketing. Simply because you already have the product. The primary reason for marketing is because you have something to sell. If you don't know who you are or what core value you will provide, You're in for a long haul. You'll have to go through the process of determining who you are and by that it means you won't be able to make money or sell immediately because you are still learning what to make of yourself.

Like all the things in life that bears valuable results. It must first be taken care of with continuity. Only when proper amount of your time is given will it bring fruit. Still it will only happen in it's own time. But to make it happen you must have persistence.

There's a story in the book think and grow rich about how Henry Ford applied persistence in the things he want. Waiting for his engineer to finally come out with something. Not giving up even if his engineers tell him that what he wants is impossible. He only tells them to keep working on it. Repeating the phrase, "I want it, I'll get it".

This same bull dog type of determination is a primary ingredient in internet success. After you have determined how things must be executed to achieve your primary goal. Whether it's a sale target or a new product launch, you must do the task regularly.

If you stop, you won't make it happen. A clear example of this is when I released an article in one of the article directories. On the first to the fifth month after uploading the article, I only got a few article views but on the sixth month things changed, my article views suddenly grew. When I checked, that's when I saw the article on the first page of a Google search result. This means that it took Google five months before it finally decided that my article was worth placing in the first page of the search results.

If I've given up before the sixth month. I would have never enjoyed the feeling of finally seeing my efforts bear fruit.

Always remember that in the internet marketing arena, you can only increase your chances of connecting to people (your target market). The rest is under the control of somethings which you may have little or no control at all. But if you continue working, continue doing, continue promoting day in and day out, you will have a higher chance of people encountering your work and not someone else.

Be like the ant in the picture. Patient, persistent. Works continually. Carrying foods bit by bit. returning to the source to get more. Only moves somewhere else when the source is depleted already.

Cultivating a responsive customer base involves establishing relationships. This principle applies both in traditional marketing and internet marketing.

Marketing online should not be an excuse for you not to care about establishing a good relationship with people.

In fact among the components of a successful internet business venture is turning customers into raving fans. Only then will you see your business earnings explode.

To make your internet marketing activity a success, you must have a good relationship with leads and customers. This is the way to make repeat sales and word of mouth recommendations. This tip, plus the two tips above if used will ensure your success.

Most of the marketers advice others to over deliver. As for me, I always recommend that you give what is appropriate to the deal but you must also make sure that you make a good impression as you do this. Just give enough but make sure you go out of your way to make them happy at the value they are receiving. Make money but also establish a relationship. A good one.
