Verona Town in Middle New Jersey

Ranked #12,650 in Travel & Places, #309,159 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund

Verona celebrated its Centennial last year. It is a town with new and old houses and a beautiful park.

Verona has very good publics' schools; they are in the top 10 in New Jersey.

Verona is a healthy, quite residential town, but located at 30 min to Manhattan, and this is why people from Verona can easily commute by bus, or drive to the big jobs in New York City.
They also can take advantage of the cultural events from NY City.

Verona Local Government

Verona operates under the Faulkner Act form of municipal government, and is governed by a five-member Township Council.
Members are elected in nonpartisan elections to four-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with two or three seats coming up for election every other year.

It really is a great value to live in my home town.

The Verona Park is a big attraction for all ages, it has a lake, kids play ground, tennis courts, host craft exhibitions, concerts and other reunions.

I'll always remember Verona as the last place I got a ticket while driving. For the great offense of making a U-turn in their little business district. From a town cop who looked like Sean Connery, but had no sense of humor.

I liked Verona better than any of the other NJ towns when I lived in Montclair, especially the lovely park right in the middle of town. I will, however, quarrel with the easy 30 minute commute to New York. Had it been that easy, we'd probably still be living there. With Seacaucus Junction now up and running, maybe 45 minutes by train to midtown, but by bus or car? Only with wings.

Verona is just lovely. The buildings and the homes look so inviting to me...how I miss towns like yours with so much of the old preserved and still in use. Thank you for sharing.
