08 Toyota Tacoma

Question: What size tires and rims can I put on a stock 08' Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab Short Bed?
I'm not planning on lifting or lowering it. I don't really want that much wider tires right now than the stock ones I have (I don't know the size). But I do want larger rims and tires for sure. Please any advice on where to get them from for quality and price and what my options are.

Answer: dont forget if your tires are larger in circumference then your original tires the spedo will show you are going slower then you really are and the cops might get you for that.

get some bigger rims like you want but get a tire with the same circumference so you dont have spedo issues, unless you have it re calibrated then bigger tires will be fine. you might loose a few mpg with bigger tires too.

Question: Does anyone own an 08 Toyota Tacoma crew cab? If so, what do you like or not like about it?
Tomorrow is my husbands 40th birthday and I'm going to surprise him with a new truck. I'm going back and forth between 2. The other is a Chevrolet Silverado. (the gas is whats stopping me) The toyota is a v6.

Answer: i have a 06 tacoma 4 door, and its the same engine and stuff as what your describing.
ITS A GREAT TRUCK, i love it.

ill explain why, the v6 is very strong and produces a lot of power, i towed a trailer down to florida with ease. Gets good mileage on the highway, about 24-26 mpg. The ride is just amazing, its so smooth its great.

For a technical aspect, the frame is based off the Land Cruiser Prado, basically the Lexus GX 470 frame, variants of the transmission on the tacoma are used on both lexus and toyota vehicles.

The interior is great minus the hard plastics, at first glance they look high quality.

Question: Have a 08 toyota tacoma i had a alarm/remote start installed in. Now my check engine light is on trans. code?
the check engine light is on now when i shift into drive the car jumps in to gear. the tech checked the acc, ign and tach wires and said they are connected right. this is a audio vox alarm remote start. audio vox has no clue. please help..

Answer: when the vehicle starts using the remote start the trasmition is not getting ignition power at the correct time most likely is receiving power after the vehicle is on or is not getting power

if this is the case the trasmition will jump aand the gears will kick back a little when driving

this will damage the trasmition ,have them repair th alarm or remove the alarm tell the shop this is the some problem that happends on the gm trucks

Question: How to disable seat belt alarm 08 Tacoma?
Is therea way to disable my seat belt alarm on a 08 Toyota Tacoma?

Answer: I am not sure about pulling the fuse you might kill several other things that might use that alarm also. What I did was look under your seat you should have two wires coming from the seat belt part that is attached to your seat. You should see a plug at the end of those two wires that plugs into two other wires that run back to the alarm just unplug that connector. It will only disable that seat and nothing else I have a 07 Nissan Frontier. Hope this helps

Question: 2008 TOYOTA TACOMA 2 WD.?
I bought my wife a 08 Toyota Tacoma 2wd 5 speed manual transmission 4 cylinder back in February. Well in 7 months we have only put 3000 miles on this truck, the manual says, on initial break in go 5000 miles before service, I'm thinking to let all of the metal shavings in the Gear box to get broken in and to let everything get seated correctly. Well I have two free services that came with the truck from the dealership, since this oil in now 7 months old should I take it in for service? Or should I wait for the whole break in period 5000 miles?

Answer: The dealer probably used oil that is supposed to be changed every 3,000 miles or every 3 months which ever comes first. In your case I would go ahead and change your oil. You are 4 months over due. They do make oils that can last from 3,000 to 15,000 miles depending on the grade of oil....

what kind of oil should i get for a new 08' Tacoma and what is the recommended fuel?

Answer: IN YOUR MANUAL IT SHOULD SAY WHICH WIEIGHT & WHAT BRAND IS PREFERRED. I HAVE A 1997 TACOMA & I LOVE IT!!!! I USE HIGH-OCTANE FUEL. QUAKERSTATE.

Question: Will a dirt bike fit in a toyota tacoma short bed?
How well does a dirt bike fit in a tacoma double cab short bed? (im talking about the gen. 2's, 05-08's). Some people said that you have to angle it, but the wheel will rest on the tailgate. But ive also heard the tailgate is weak, so is that bad for it? As for the double cab long bed, how much better does it fit? Will I be able to shut the tailgate?

Answer: I normally put my KX 250 in straight forward with the tailgate down. However i'm not sure if it will fit with the tailgate up, i haven't tried yet. As far as the plastic bed floor and tailgate they seem to be pretty strong i've hauled a complete V-8 engine with no problems. Hope this helps!

Question: Are the bucket seats in the 08 tacoma the same as the 06 4Runner?
I have sciatica and it seems the 4Runner bucket seats are not helping it. I am thinking about switching vehicles ad would like to stay with a Toyota 4x4.

Answer: There very similar, but I'm not sure about being the same seats. It would be best to try it out if possible. If not, a great option would be simply buying new seat covers, or a new seat for better ergonomics.
