0ctavias0fferings eBid Stores
Ranked #6,406 in Internet, #312,521 overall
My stores on eBid.net - a great place to be.
I started this lens at the same time that I started to put together my newest eBid store.
I paid for the seller-plus option on eBid.net which gives me a lifetime membership with zero fees if I so choose. Using the gallery, as I always do, I pay a 2% fee on the final sale price of the item, that's all I ever pay and that is not due until the item actually sells.
If your item doesn't sell, you can simply relist to your heart's content until it does sell.
While some may criticise this as leaving the site open to having expensive or overpriced items "parked" for ever, for a seller of handmade cards it is absolutely ideal. I can display the entire range without fear of incurring massive fees.
To me, eBid is the ideal site on which to sell if you make one of a kind items or anything handmade and I know there are more sellers like me on eBid.net.

My original store on eBid.net, before I became a seller+ member of the site.
At first I had a limited amount on this store. At one point only my cards - and there were fewer of them than - while I was testing the water at other sites around the internet.
I tried many and have written about some in another lens. There were some online auction sites which have since vanished without a trace.
Having returned to eBid and restocked my original store, it became clear that really, it needed at least one more store to seperate the bits and pieces from the cards and other handmade products.
***Currently I am selling only my cards, prints and Art Cards on eBid.***

Buying from my stores
On most items in these stores you'll find a buy now price and a lower bid up from price, you can choose whichever option you like. Some of my items are listed for 30 day rotations so if you are not in a hurry for the item you can place your bid. However, if you want the item quickly, please check the auction time remaining before deciding whether to bid or simply buy.
On mutiple purchases we will always combine the shipping to keep the cost to you, our customer, down.
Satisfaction Guaranteed
It's really quite simple, if for any reason you are not happy with your purchase from our stores, we will refund the full price, including the shipping charge you paid, to you once the item has been returned (the customer must pay for the return shipping). We do ask that if you are pleased with your purchase please let us know by leaving your feedback.
How hard is it to open a store on eBid
Currently the lifetime seller+ membership is 49.99, well worth the money IMO.Once you've joined up to eBid, go to 'my eBid' on the tabs and click on 'my eBid stores' at the right hand side of the page.
You will then be taken to a page with options to manage your existing stores (if you have any) in a drop down box and a clickable link to open a new eBid store.
To configure a new store I click this link.
The page you are now taken to will show your new store as being offline and gives you options to upload a banner or logo in section 1.
Section 2 is where you enter the name of your new store and choose the category and subcategory into which the store will fall. It is also in section two that you can choose the background and text colours which will appear in the header and menu on your store pages.
In section 3, you can choose the categories and subcategories for the items with which you are going to stock your store and that's it, you're good to go. It only remains to fill up your categories with goods for sale and make sure you click that choice to put your store online.
All three sections are on the one page, couldn't be simpler :-)
How long did that take ... opening the store itself, less than 10 minutes.
The best bit? You get 5 of these free stores if you are a seller+ ... now that can't be bad ;)
Fanfare please ...
I've noticed that the guys at eBid - Mark and Gazza - are not really up for blowing their own trumpets so someone has to do it.This year (2008) has been a record breaking year for eBid. Troubles over at eBay have seen the membership rise yet again and the listings figures have reached all time highs. Along with this has come an increase in the volume of sales on the site, nice work all round.
Improvements made to the efficiency and performance of the site as well as the look of it over the past couple of years have generally made the site a much easier place to trade.
Both Google Checkout and paypal are among a range of payment options open to buyers and sellers, auction and buy now formats are both well supported.
Not only a record breaking year but also an award winning year.
From the newsletter ... We were absolutely delighted when we heard the news that the site had received a Gold Medal Award for being "Best eBay Alternative" and excellent review in Webuser magazine! The award is now proudly displayed for all to see on the main page of the website.
