My choices for the 10 best thriller movies of 2007

1) There Will Be Blood - This drama/thriller is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time especially for the performance of Daniel Day Lewis.

2) No Country For Old Men - This action/thriller is another great Coen brothers movie, and features on of the most interesting and entertaining bad guys I've seen in recent movies.

3) Bourne Ultimatum - Another great action/thriller of 2007 Bourne Ultimatum keeps you entertained right up until the very end.

4) Zodiac - I thought it would end a little differently, but then it is based on a true story and thats the point of a good thriller movie to keep you guessing until the very end.

5) Michael Clayton - George Clooney gives a strong performance and the movie carries an interesting plot and a good climax.

6) Eastern Promises - I didn't like the ending too much but thought the rest of the movie deserved some credit, with Viggo Mortensen playing his part well.

7) Number 23 - Jim Carrey plays a different kind of role in this movie with a twist I never saw coming.

8) Gone Baby Gone - I didn't really like the twist too much but thought Ed Harris and Casey Affleck played their parts well.

9) Disturbia - Definitely not the best thriller movie, but it did keep me watching up until the very end.

10) 1408 - This movie had a pretty confusing final half hour and not one I particularly got into, but if your fan of the Stephen King type movies then you might enjoy this one more than I did.

My choices for the 10 best thriller movies of 2008

1) Taken - This action/thriller movie is similar in some ways to the Bourne Ultimatum and my number one pick for 2008. Liam Neeson is great as a former spy and provides some great action fight scenes throughout the movie.

2) Deception - A movie that I thought had a few good twists and with characters that kept me interested throughout the movie.

3) Traitor - Another great thriller movie of 2008 with a twist halfway through and a clever ending I never saw coming.

4) 21 - Loosely based on a true story about mathematic geniuses using their talent to rob casinos. I thought there were decent performances from Kevin Spacey and Laurence Fishburne, with an ending worth waiting for.

5) 88 Minutes - Starring Al Pacino this movie is one that had me trying to work out who the killer was right up until the end.

6) Untraceable - I thought this was a decent cat and mouse thriller with a dark and chilling theme that kept me interested.

7) Vantage Point - A fairly far fetched story but it did provide some good action and kept me guessing enough to finish watching.

8) Righteous Kill - Starring two of my favorite actors Robert De Nero and Al Pacino, this movie is manly worth watching for the performances of these two actors.

9) The Happening - A movie that seemed alright enough while I was watching it but I didn't like the way ending too much.

10) Eagle Eye - It was hard to find a movie to go in the number 10 spot but if I was going to pick between Eagle Eye and the rest of the ones I've seen - Mirrors, Identity Theft, Stranglers etc I'd pick Eagle Eye.

My Chooses for 10 best thriller movies of all time

1) Taxi Driver - This dark thriller is my all time favorite, with a spectacular performances and great characters from Robert De Nero, Harvey Keitel and Jodie Foster.

2) Chinatown - Another old thriller movie with some awesome acting as the mysterious private detective Jack Gitties from the then rising star Jack Nicholson.

3) Seven - This is one of them thrillers that kept me on the edge of seat the whole way through, and the final scene was completely unexpected.

4) There Will Be Blood - Maybe this is placed at number 4 because the movie is fresh in my mind, however I think it is one I will remember in years to come.

5) Fight Club - This action thriller had a great twist and I thought the performances by Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

7) Silence Of The Lambs - No all time best thriller list would be complete without including one of the most intriguing, intellectual and gruesome characters in film history - Hannibal Lecter.

8) The Usual Suspects - This was the first movie I saw Kevin Spacey in and thought himself as well as the storyline was great with a twist at the end that helped make this movie one of the most memorable thrillers of all time.

9) Cape Fear - Robert DeNiro plays a fantasic role as a dark and sinister bad guy out for revenge; enjoyed the movie the whole way through, especially the ending.

10) The Shining - I thought this was one of those rare dark and haunting movie thats actually keeps you interested, and one of the only Stephen King adapted movies I actually really enjoyed.
