Years ago I couldn't stop reading Anne Rice books. When Interview With A Vampire came out with Tom Cruise...had to go see it! Fun lens.

Great lens, most of my favorites are on there. Near Dark is a personal favorite from the late 80's and Cronos is an interesting variation on a theme from Guillermo del Toro and another one I'd recommend if you haven't seen it. I liked Daybreakers too out of the more modern crop of vampire movies.
  • little_diddle Jun 6, 2011 @ 5:02 pm | delete
what about Fright Night? That was also a good one! Great lens! I love all of the movies on here!

Hey Lemming, it was a hard list to make. I have to admit to my embarrassment I didn't see shadow of the vampire until last month, a full four years after I made this page. Daybreakers is another one that came out after I made the page - I'm thinking it's definitely time to update.
  • Lemming13 Mar 4, 2011 @ 7:54 am | delete
Cool list, but come on, Dead and Loving it but not Shadow of the Vampire? I also enjoyed the 80s flick Vamp, myself. And then there's The Breed, Daybreakers, Suck... Tough call, though, to select just ten. Great lens.

Loved the list almost as much as your werewolf list. I had to vote Lost Boys up, one of the greatest movies of all time.

You've got a lot of my favorites in here, and a few more I'll check out later. It's nice seeing the Dusk til Dawn sequels mentioned. Texas Blood Money was hilariously bad.

I love vampire films. My favorite vampire is, without a doubt, Nosferatu. I find him extremely creepy, and fascinating. The film is a gem that everybody who loves horror movies should watch.
Another film that I enjoyed greatly was Underworld, great action.
    Great lens!!

I'm going to have to go with Interview With The Vampire, the Blade movies were really bad in my opinion. Your lens has been squid angel blessed.

Interview with a vampire is my all time favorite movie. It has been since it first came out and i was really little. Thanks for adding it to your list

I like Mr Vampire, for an Asian twist to the vampire genre. It's a refreshing to see something a little different than what we see in most vampire films. The '58 Hammer Dracula is really good.
  • lostinfiction Feb 16, 2010 @ 8:43 pm | delete
Some of the newer ones aren't that amazing, but the Anne Rice ones were good. Saw some interesting info on infloox about a new video book from some of Rice's earliest material.

I liked Dracula 2000 and Queen of the Damned. Both had some good tunes, but Gerard Butler. Mmmmm....
  • gideon43 Aug 18, 2009 @ 2:52 pm | delete
