Why think positive

You get out what you put in.

Positive Thinking has been around for a long, long time and recently research has begun to bring evidence that positive thinking can have a proven positive effect on most aspects of our lives. As a hypnotherapist i am often working on increasing the positive outlook of my clients and thus empowering them to become the people they want to be. It's not always enough to just change the way you think and most of the time I am working on deeper levels but thinking positive certainly helps along the way. Here I have put together 10 of the most compelling reasons why I feel it is important for everyone to think more positively.

Here are your 10 Reasons to be Positive

1. Positive Thinkers live longer. Research in America has shown that for those who live to be 100+, positive thinking has been a significant contribution to their longevity. Research with Nuns has shown that those who think positive live up to 10 years longer than those who do not.

2. Positive Thinking is the enemy of stress. It is most difficult for stress to take hold if you think positive. Stress has many long term sub-clinical and life threatening consequences. So thinking positive will make you stress less.

3. Thinking positive allows you to have more energy to do the things you want to do. Positive thinking promotes enthusiasm and a job satisfaction. Negative thinking promotes sluggishness and reluctance.

4. You will have a positive influence on others and attract more friends. People will be drawn to you and like being with you. In turn you will be able to bask in their positive attitude too. The more positive energy you have around you the more you benefit and protect yourself from negativity.

5. You will feel more peaceful and contented with your life and the small things that are unimportant but that make you angry or frustrated will not have the same effect. You will not feel that you have to be in control of everything and know every detail.

6.You will be healthier. For one your stress levels will be down and so your body will be able to use it's resources to keep you healthy rather than helping you to carry around the burdens of your life. When you think positive your illnesses are less significant and therefore your body copes more easily. Thinking positive means you don't pain as intensely as someone who welcomes the pain and wallows in it. The body chemicals created by positive thoughts has a beneficial effect on your body and your health. The negative chemical released as a results of negative thoughts do the opposite.

7. You have more time. You have more energy and you get on with things in a proactive way, you therefore take less time to procrastinate or stall and have more spare time for more exciting positive things to do.

8. Positive thinkers are lucky. Not because they have magical powers but because they are open to opportunities that negative people would miss. thinking positive opens the doors of your mind to possibilities that are out there waiting to be activated.

9. Being positive means you feel less fear and are more courageous. Fear is often irrational and yet the biggest barrier to achieving.

10. Get what you want more easily. Positive people know what they want and tend to be more focused in getting there. A bit like using a map. If you don't really know where you are going it could take a while to get there as you stop off at places to see if they feel right but if you know exactly where you are aiming for you can drive directly there.
