3) Buddy up - Join a forum or speak to friends you know that are trying to QUIT SMOKING. This can be really helpful as not only will you gain support but it is known that people who buddy up usually want to outdo each other. Then if your buddy relapses you'll feel good. but if you relapse you'll feel even worse. Also avoid other smokers as you will only relapse.

4) Drink lots of fluids . This is to help flush out the nicotine and toxins. It also aids in avoiding weight gain. Also cut down on alcohol, sugar and coffee as these are known to increase nicotine cravings.

5) Exercise more. When you exercise you feel healthier. It is also a good cure for stress, which is a time when a lot of people smoke. Eventually this may be enough to actually get you to QUIT.

6) Keep yourself busy. When your busy you don't get time to think about SMOKING. If you do feel your mind wandering take some deep breaths and find something to take your mind off it. Chew some gum or take up a hobby.

7) Develop a new routine. Most smokers can't give up due to habit and rituals. You need to unlearn your routine and develop a new one that doesn't involve taking time out to smoke when you get up in the morning, take the dog for a walk etc.
