Ten Year Journal

The Ten Year Journal is a simple tool for daily journaling. You can write 5 lines every day in less than ten minutes. Take ten minutes a day and record your life. I know you are busy. We are all busy- maybe too busy. But give yourself this gift! And then buy a Ten Year Journal for a friend!

The Ten Year Journal is the most important journal I have ever used. The best part is reviewing your own notes. After year one, every year for the next 9, you will know exactly what you were doing on the same day in the years previous.

The genius of this journal is in the layout. Each page includes 10 years of each date. April 1, 2001 is on the same page with April 1, 2002, April 1, 2003, and so on.

It is very self revealing to see your own celebrations, joys and sorrows in a ten year period. You will ask yourself "oh, how did I get through those days?" And in realizing that you did indeed get through those days, you will realize your own strength. You will grin when you see again a special celebration, a thoughtful remark, or an "aha" moment. You literally will watch yourself mature, face challenges and move on.

I hope that you will make this your year to begin the Ten Year Journal! If you are faithful in your daily writing, you will create a journal that is filled with memories and lessons for you!

PS Have you ever had a book you wished you could share with the whole world? This is such a book for me. If I could afford it, I would buy you all a copy today! It's that important!

Love it! Great idea!

mukunda22 says:

Love to journal, but sometimes get confused by what journal method to use--Always choose the Morning Pages over all!!

twentytwenty says:

I wish I would have thought of this!

CCGAL says:

I have a book from the 1800's that does this for 5 years; Sands of Time it's called. I love it!

JaguarJulie says:

I so love the idea of journaling -- do you know I just hate it that a number of years ago I 'threw' out several annual journals that I had used because I wanted to start anew. Those journals contained so much of my personal thoughts along with some poetry. I wish I had them today especially since I'm now on Squidoo!!!

mbgphoto says:

This journal sounds like a great idea. Last year I was going to start a journal and it lasted til Feb 20th and then I didn't pick it up till Dec 28th-yesterday. I had a very rough year-2 major surgeries-and I wish I would have written so I've just completed a 10 page synopsis of 2008 in the beginning of my 2009 Journal. This will be the year!! I will be faithful in writing all year...That is my New Year's Resolution! Thanks for a great journal.

Tipi says:

There are times in my life that I journal and have been very happy that I had the facts written down. Dates, times, events, etc. are good to remember.

I do not journal all the time, just sometimes! :)

purplelady says:

Well here I am again--conflicted over the black and white of these monkey brain/duel things. I would love to have the choice to say BOTH! I do love it and think it is a great idea; but I also know myself well enough to know that I lack the self discipline to do this.

But I must insist that there are times when I know exactly which side I am on.

Susan says:

It's a great idea, but I can't imagine getting my family to do it

1Penny2 says:

I think its a great idea! I journal everyday on the computer but its too easy to hit the delete button.

CherylK says:

I absolutely agree. It's really sort of sad that we've drifted away from the written word...and five lines a day should be doable for everyone.

vbright105 says:

It is. I should do it now. I buy journals, use them for about a week, then get busy and forget them. Then I go buy another, same thing. Vicious cycle!

ElizabethJeanAllen says:

Yes! I journal everyday but I do it on the computer. The bad thing is, its too easy to delete.

Joan4 says:

Journaling reduces stress, helps focus, provides a record of activities, and aids in self growth and development!

I lack the self discipline to do this.

Where were you when.....?

Where were you five years ago? What were you concerned about then? Wouldn't you love to read those thoughts today?

Enjoy reading about your children growing up. Or your grandchildren. What was your child doing this same day last year? Especially fun with new babies or young children - you can record daily and keep track of each little growth step.

Traveler? This is perfect! Log where you go, your first impressions, places you visit - record you thoughts as you go.

New High school or college graduate? Record your activities for the next 10 years - what a great way to track your goals!

Do you journal? Are you considering developing this habit?

Agree that seeing how far you've come from year to year is a great spiritual exercise!!

Gracious, I feel guilty. Haven't journaled since I was a teenager except for some spurts of it here and there. :)

I don't journal much now that I've found Squidoo ... but I've found that saving my e-mail letters to my sister go a long way towards documenting what I was thinking - since I tell her almost everything. I have an archive of them going back for several years now.

This is a really good idea. I used to keep a daily journal but ironically since I started writing on the internet I just haven't kept it up. I really should start again

This seems like an excellent idea for keeping a journal for a longer period of time. My MIL has been journalling for decades. If she wants to look up something she has to go through many journals. This would be a nice overview to go back and look at other journals.
