Nikon F 35mm Analog SLR

The Nikon F 35mm Analog SLR camera, introduced in 1959, was the first SLR by Nikon, and it was one of the most advanced cameras of its day, and was prototypical of all later professional SLRs.

This camera was the first SLR system that was adopted and used seriously by the general population of professional photographers, became enormously successful, especially by those photographers covering the Vietnam War, and those news photographers utilizing motor-driven Nikon F's with 250-exposure backs to record the various launches of the space capsules in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space programs, both in the 1960s. It was produced until October 1973 and was replaced by the very similar Nikon F2.
