Autumn, or Fall when you are in the Ststes, marks the transition from summer into winter, usually in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere) when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier.

Most notable and a tourist draw in autumn are the famously noted coloured autumn foliage found especially in most of Canada and the United States, Eastern Asia (including China, Korea, and Japan), and Europe. In the U.S.A., Autumn is also associated with the Halloween season, and with it a widespread marketing campaign that promotes it. The television, film, book, costume, home decoration, and confectionery industries use this time of year to promote products closely associated with the holiday, whose ends brings forth the aura and the spirit of Christmas.
