A TRIKKE Millinium was just what the doctor ordered
1000 miles to go and it's looking formidable but fun.
Having never gone a thousand miles as a goal, when the challenge was given I promptly answered the call. After answering the call I stopped and then engaged my brain and tried to figure out what had happened to make my brain agree to this madness. A thousand miles being just over the distance from Virginia Beach to my childhood home in Raymond, MS, the magnitude of my self challenge started to sink in. I was stumped but determined to complete the 1000 miles and so I started. Having a spread sheet at my disposal after each run made adding the miles a cinch for recording purposes.
See how CountryLuthier got his start on Squidoo.

- One great advantage of internet marketing is that you can apply it anywhere. The business you're promoting would be recognized whenever, wherever, as long as there's an internet connection.

- I've never seen these before. How do you make them go if you are on flat ground or going up a hill? I don't get the concept by just looking at the photos.

- KonaGirl, the principle is the same as roller blading or skating, side to side motion and momentum. Up hill is tough but doable for those who've been riding a while. Thanks for the question.

Mental fortitude and preparation
Now that I've recovered sufficiently, follow my antics and trip log as I attempt to log in my next 100 miles. I've actually logged the inaugural miles at Mt. Trashmore. The improvements to the park by Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation are great. Once the calibration run is completed, I anticipate logging as many miles as possible. Join me at Mt. Trashmore on your T-12, who knows how many miles/pounds we can rack up. See ya there!
Picking the Battle Ground
The place I chose to undertake this epic personal goal was Mount Trashmore Park in beautiful Virginia Beach Virginia. The park so named due to its being built atop a former landfill. That being said, it is a nice park and it is still sought out by many visitors and natives of Virginia Beach and so, I made it the site of my quest.
My miles were generally ridden around about a 1.9 mile asphalt trail. After riding the desired number of laps, I multiplied my laps by the distance and recorded the mileage on a spread sheet.
This was no fast feat. In fact, it took about 11 months. The first 9 months were fairly lax as I started in May. By the following March, with the goals end coming closer, I started taking it more seriously and rode as many as 20 or miles in a session.
I finally reached my goal about 1 day late and in my estimation just over 1000 miles traveled in the park and around the lake.
Millinium II is under way, COUNTRYLUTHIER has started his second thousand mile run!
I am as they say, back in the saddle again. I've managed to get the first 10 miles under my belt with beautiful VIrginia Beach weather. Looking to really get the 2012 spring in gear at Mt. Trashmore, my favorite location for laps.
I've found an alternate location that will let me trike without driving and will use it as my backup.
Squidoo Fans, Millinium II is underway!
Wish me luck
Spring has sprung let's get some exercise!
