How to make a MILLION dollars (and what to do if you don't!)

So.. you want to earn $1,000,000! You will be pleased to learn it is simpler than you thought. But simple is not necessarily easy! Just like walking is simple. But walking 1,000,000 miles is not easy!

But it is simple. One step after another. You just alter the speed and the size of your steps to get you there faster. So how can you get to $1,000,000? Learn how to make $1 profit, then do it again one million times.

It's then up to you how large you make your steps (increase profit), and how fast you go (number of sales).

So, we'll start with easy ways to make a profit online, and then come back in a little while to learn how to drive hundreds of people each day to your site or lens. So get reading, choose your favorite method, and start experimenting!

Words you need to know

(before you start reading)

Squidoo = The website you are looking at right now.

Lens = The page you are looking at right now is a lens. It is a Squidoo page, and the content is controlled by me. You control your own lenses, and you can have as many as you want.

Filthy Stinking Rich = Having more money than you can spend, or even dream of spending.

Residual = Money paid to you for work you did in the past, like royalties on sales of your book or pop song. An automatic income you are not required to work for.

Do you REALLY need $1,000,000?

Do you REALLY need $1,000,000 to live the millionaire lifestyle?

The answer is no. You don't need one million dollars in the bank to live the lifestyle of a millionaire.

The key to the millionaire lifestyle is about having cashflow. If you've recorded a pop song which earns you $100,000 per year, you don't have to work again and you have the cashflow of a millionaire. Congratulations.

Here are some ways for you to either earn $1,000,000, OR $100,000 in your sleep per year.

How much do you need per day?

You have two options:

1). Earn the million dollars in one year.
2). Set up an automatic income of $100,000 per year, in one year.

Therefore:

1. If you want to earn one million dollars in one year you need to earn just $2739.73 per day.

2. To set up an automatic income of $100,000 per year you need to set up your systems to earn you just $274 per day.

Doesn't sound like much when you put it like that, does it?

As you'll see below, my January sales on just one of my lenses produced $47 every 3 days. So all I need to do is increase the number of visitors I get so I am making one of those sales every 3 hours instead of every 3 days. It will also be wise to have more than 1 lens to do this.

IDEA 1. Use Squidoo to Sell Affiliate Products

Squidoo is a FANTASTIC tool for pointing people wherever you want them to go. Is Squidoo the hottest new tool for selling affiliate products? Yes!

You make a lens about a certain topic, just like the page you're looking at right now, and you sell an affiliate product your visitors might like to buy.

Squidoo modules are great for making easy sales of stuff on amazon and ebay, but Squidoo is also great for selling products from networks such as ClickBank (link below) where your commission per sale is upwards of $15.

If you're making one sale per 100-visitors and earning $20 profit per sale, it's simply a matter of increasing either your visitors or your conversion ratio.

This is a more lucrative idea than making as many "AdSense websites" as you can and trying to earn $1 per day on each one from search engine traffic. Just make a lens per day/two-days/week and sell high-profit affiliate products.

How can you find high-profit affiliate products?

ClickBank. They're a great affiliate network, with thousands of high-quality products you can sell for a couple dozen dollars profit per item.

Write a lens about something you know about, and sell an affiliate product to your readers.

Over 10,000 products on offer. Use this one to find products to sell to your visitors. They have a HUGE range. ClickBank is *very* cool.

IDEA 2. Sell ClickBank Products To Niche MySpace Friends

This is my favorite idea on the page.

I'm going to assume you've heard of myspace.

Let's do some simple maths here...

You have 50,000 targeted myspace friends (over several accounts).

You get 0.5% of them to buy a clickbank product by linking to it in your comment signature. (This is not counting all the other people who will see the link on the profiles)

0.5% of 50,000 is 250.

So you make 250 sales.

Let's say each sale is worth $21.

AND YOU JUST MADE $5250.

Congratulations. You did really well there. Can you do it again the following month? Probably not if you're out spending all your money!

And if you don't know all of them already, then you need to read this book. It is amazing!

The first section of the book is devoted to the story of T Harv Eker, and how he changed his ideas from "this" to "this". Very interesting to read. The second section (the bulk of the book) consists of the 17 ways, and a full explanation of each, backed up with examples, stories, ideas, etc. Like a mini essay on each one. An ENTERTAINING mini essay.

The title of this book is absolutely no lie. This book is THE book you need on how the rich got that way, and how the poor got that way.

Imagine taking this phenomenal guy to a pub or bar, and sitting down with him in a corner and listened to him tell you everything he knows about wealth (or rather, wealth from the inside, out) in simple conversational language. Nowhere near as hard to chew on as Think and Grow Rich, no way.

It is very nicely written (in a conversational manner), and I love the hard-hitting no-nonsense lessons right from page 1.

Read this book, then proudly present it to your best friend to read.

You both deserve it.

IDEA 4. Your Own Dropshipping Business on Ebay

Thousands of people are earning a living off eBay, the online auction site. So why not you?

Depending on what you sell, Why Not You?!

If you want to sell things on eBay and earn a living with as little work as possible you could do one of two things:

1). Sell a few expensive things you never have to handle.
2). Sell lots of cheap stuff you never have to handle.

The easiest option for you depends on... you! So how can you get loads of stuff to sell that you never have to ever touch? Again, you could do one of two things:

IDEA 7. Open your own Cafepress Store

Cafepress is a website which allows you to open your own shop with nothing more than a design.

You have your graphic on your computer made to fit a particular Cafepress template, you upload it to Cafepress, and you select what products you want your design to be printed on. You pay nothing, ever, (unless you want to upgrade), and you just collect money from the sales.

For example, I created the Fire Your Boss design you see there on the left, and if someone wants to order something with it printed on they just head over to Cafepress and order. Cafepress will then print it, ship it, bill the customer, and pay me my mark-up price.

What products do Cafepress do? T-Shirts, jumpers, hoodies, bags, badges, mugs, hats... more than you could ever want.

You can even use Squidoo to feature your own products, and give a boost to your lenses too.

    Good lens! As a couple of others have said, you need to persevere if you are going to make it happen for you. Also it's good to start with one method and get that up and running before diversifying to something else as well.

    Lot's of sensible ideas but ultimately, as with all things you have to put in an effort and a half to really make it work. There is no reason why anyone who is persistent (regardless of how much money you have or not, OR how much education you have or not) can become a millionaire especially when programs like you have outlined are free or next to it to do. You just have to stick with it.

    my plan to a million is robbing banks.
    on average each bank teller holds about 5k.
    if you go in the bank at around 10am, you will probrably get 2 or 3 tellers open, this will be 10-15k per job. note that you are only taking the money in the tellers, to minimize the time you are in the bank and therefore keep your risk of being caught at null (if you are in and out of the scene in less then 2 minutes, without leaving fingerprints or any visual identification, you will NOT be under any risk).
    so think about it, 10k-15k per job, thats 75 jobs for the million, if you do 1 per month to give you enough time to plan every job patiently, you will have your money in 7 years. not to mention you are only going to be working 2 minutes per month!

    if all you are worried about is making money - you will rarely ever make money. I own two corporations and I mainly worry about taking care of people, clients and family alike. Try that and see how much further it will get you.

    Never had much business sense myself. I would be willing to try anyone of your ideas. Hard to think right now. I hit rock bottom so fast,I must have bump my head real hard. I can't see, feel or even wrap my brain around what a future looks like or even is...Life is coming at me so fast...I barely remember if I had a past. Used to be the most optimistic person...Wonder whatever happened to her? Wish one of you rich guys would make a reality TV show out of me. 24hrs a day on camera...her rags to riches story.

    I like to make for a start $5,000 a month which is about $167 a day. Looks like a wild dream but this lens is another great lesson for me to attain that goal!

    Hey Lewis, Great Lens! I've just finished up my freshman year of college, and I need to make $30,000 in about 4 months. I decided about 2 weeks ago to run an ebay dropshipping business.     I have been having good luck by using Squidoo lenses to sell my Zazzle and CafePress products on. I'd sell more if I did more to promote my lenses and if I had more products to sell (I'm working on both of those problems right now!).

    eBay doesn't allow eBooks to be sold on the main site anymore, it is now VERY hard to sell any eBooks on eBay now AT ALL. But all the other info is great thanks and some really good links!
