$1,000 Pizza in NYC

A Work of Art
The Most Expensive Pizza In New York.... In The World, I Daresay.
Could you imagine paying $1,000 for a pizza? No, this does not come with a car or house. For those with the means, who are kind of tired of the usual pizza toppings, and just happen to be in New York City, go splurge and indulge yourself with the most luxurious pizza in the world. The restaurant Nino's Bellissima, in Manhattan, has put a $1,000 pizza on the menu. The 12-inch pizza is topped with creme fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of thinly sliced Maine lobster tail, salmon roe, and a little bit of wasabi to complement all the fish. The thin-crust pizza is cut into eight, $125 slices for serving.
You can't just walk in off the street a pick up one of these specialty pies on your way home from work, though. The restaurant needs 24-hour advance notice to make one.

It really isn't a pizza without cheese and sauce. It is a really yummy combination of the finest seafood. If I could afford to splurge with 1000 dollars I would try it, but unfortunately, I cannot afford it. =(

I think it sounds delicious but I would make it myself as $1000 is just way too much.

You couldn't pay me to buy it
Ramkitten says:
Well, I'd buy it if you paid me MORE than $1,000 ... but, seriously, no, I prefer plain ol' cheese. And maybe some onion when I'm in the mood.

Very doubtful. I'm known by the locals as the "real Uncle Scrooge McDuck", and I got that title for a reason -- I take my refusal to spend money to the ultra extremes. Besides, living in a fishing village in Maine, means I could make the whole thing myself for about $20. Lobster and roe are only exspensive if you don't live in the town that grows it. :)

- Sheesh, that's amazing. I mean, my husband and I could take a whole VACATION for what that pizza cost. Hm, a week of vacation or fifteen minutes maybe of pizza-eating? And funky pizza at that. Nah, I'll pass on the pizza. (Cool lens, though!)

- Fish pizza = no thanks! Nah, I'll just take my pepperoni. Certain things don't belong on pizza, and caviar is definitely one of them!
