My Review -- 1000 Places to See Before You Die
This is a travel bible of the coolest places to visit in the world. It took Patricia Schultz eight years to research and write 1000 Places to See Before You Die. My hubby and I had actually watched travelogues of this travel guide book on the Travel Channel. We thought it would be such a great idea to be able to have the time and money to travel 1000 places worldwide. I was wondering how the author could pick 1000 places and what they might be. I couldn't resist, so I bought the book! Personally, I would love to travel the world and do a photo-documentary.

I got this book a couple of years ago for a gift and it is great! It is also interesting to see what the author picks as places to visit in places you have visited. Sometimes I agree, sometimes not...but that is what makes it great..everyone has different ideas of the best places to see. I also really enjoy the day by day calendar.

I need to pick up this book. It will be awhile before I get to visit any of these places, so reading about them will have to do.

I love books like these -- this is a compilation of great places to visit. It's also rather informational -- you can learn quite a bit about neat places around the world.

1,000 Places to See Before You Die: A Traveler's Life List
Amazon Price: $12.97 (as of 12/04/2009)![]()
This hefty volume reminds vacationers that hot tourist spots are small percentage of what's worth seeing out there. A quick sampling: Venice's Cipriani Hotel; California's Monterey Peninsula; the Lewis and Clark Trail in Oregon; the Great Wall of China; Robert Louis Stevenson's home in Western Samoa; and the Alhambra in Andalusia, Spain. Veteran travel guide writer Schultz divides the book geographically, presenting a little less than a page on each location. Each entry lists exactly where to find the spot.

Drop me a line if you are feeling particularly chatty today ...
I am working my way through this book to see how many places we've already seen! How about you? Have you got the book and already been to some of the 1000 places?

- This book is SO tempting. I already have quite the bucket list going (so many long walks to do, not to mention all of the non-hiking-oriented trips I want to take), so this book could be dangerous for me. I'd end up having to live to about 500 years of age to see and do it all. It WOULD be neat to see how many of the places I have been to already, but, although I feel I'm pretty well-traveled, I'll bet it would be just a tiny percentage. Anyhow, this book would make a great gift too.
