What is the idea all about?
Well, the idea is simple - to try to sell 'the most important words on the web' and to fund an independent film project, based on my award winning screenplay 'ENTER'.
Why should I buy a word?
Because you will have a link to your site posted on '1000 words for sale' that could potentially bring to you millions of people. At a price of 10$/year this might turn out to be the cheapest and most effective advertising you have ever done.
How come you are selling words?
Well, since I have been running a web design company for a year I was able to figure out that advertising on the web, once you have your website build is as important (if not more) as building the website itself. And then it hit me. The most important advertising words are the ones that the most people search for.
How did you compile the list?
It was not as easy as it might look. Actually it took me almost two weeks to cross-reference different sources about searching terms and then I had to remove some of them, such as company names or trademarks and leave only the everyday words used.
Can I resell words?
Yes. If you have certain word(s) pointing to your site(s) you are allowed to resell them to a third person keeping 50% of the new sold amount, as your profit.

How did you make those pretty backgrounds?
For the most backgrounds I used fractal generating software and then I did some heavy digital editing to get the effect I wanted. Some of the backgrounds are created from scratch.
What is this cool thing that rotates the words?
It is called WP-Cumulus and it was developed by Roy Tanck and released as open source. Some changes had to be made to repurpose it for '1000 words', but the core is still WP-Cumulus. Therefore I hereby promise that if this website is successful I will send Roy a check, along with my thanks.
What technologies have been used to create '1000 words for sale'?
A lot. PHP, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash. All pages were successfully checked as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and all CSS validate as CSS level 2.1.
