I'm Proud to Be English

Even though we lost to France in the 2011 Rugby World Cup I'm still proud to be English. The Scottish are patriotic, the Welsh are glad to poke fun at the English and the Australians just want to beat us at any sport. Why is it they can be patriotic but being English gets lost in the background noise?

I'm proud to be English and this site is all about that. It is not intended to annoy the Scots, The Welsh or Irish.
England has a proud tradition and it is interesting that when people visit the UK the speak of 'London England'.
I'm proud to be English.

Ten Structures That Make Me Proud

  1. Buckingham Palace the London Home of The Queen of England. Just to walk down the Mall and see this imposing building standing at the end of the road is breathtaking. When the Queen is at home you can see the Royal Standard flying proudly at the rooftop.
If you wnat to see the ceremony of the changing of the Guard then this is where you come.
  2. The Tower of London - The place where you ended up if you were Scottish, Welsh or Irish if you upset the reigning monarch. The history that is held in these stones is more than many countries can boast.
  3. There are few landmarks that are as iconic as tower bridge. Standing just along the river Thames from The Tower of London, this mighty symbol, known around the world, was a triumph of the innovative and excellent engineering skill of the English that made it. We will have a section about English Engineers as it is so important.
  4. Imagine building a wall to keep out invaders and trouble makers. Thats what the Romans did to preserve England from the savages that they percieved lived north of this line. Even today it is as breathtaking a sight as you could imagine - men patrolled these walls for years and spent years doing it so we could be free.
  5. The Royal Liver Building is such a famous landmark that anyone leaving Liverpool or arriving by ship couldn't help but notice the massive and yet elegant building dominating the Docks. It remains one of the most emotive buildings in the world.
