    i first learned about SEO while ghostwriting for an online media company. In the beginning I had no idea how much research and thought went into SEO. My advice is to keep reading about SEO including lenses like yours and always stay away from anything considered Black Hat.

    My best seo luck was a site that had tons of very expensive keywords all number one on google for several years and everyone hated that site but I loved it ... LOL!

    After I began posting lenses on Squidoo. The points, levels, and monsters nudged me into paying attention to traffic. I went to helpful lenses and began to get a feel for the importance of SEO research. I like to write and tend to create a lens before I think about SEO issues -- I'm starting to realize I've been doing things backwards.

    I think my top tip is that you need to be really organised. Each time you set up a lens or a website you need to make sure that you follow the same set of rules: vigorous research; good planning (make sure you have a checklist to follow); execution does not have to be perfect because you will continuously monitor and make changes to your content to make it better after it goes live; but above all else keep tightly focused and act on the research you carried out.

    Did not realise the importance of SEC until after I had written my first few lenses. I was interested i writing about the subject on a free platform, I had no intention of making money and the visitors would come from other sites I write. I creataed those first few lenses and the url of the intro was my ID. I have noticed that many newbies fall into this trap.

    Thanks for being my first comment. I think that there are a whole series of SEO errors to be made and at various different levels. The more I learn the more there seems to learn! The goal of course is transform a good lens that occasionally makes a sale into a brilliant lens that makes regular sales!
