Oh no, not another quit smoking lens!

Every time I smoke a cigarette (yes, I smoke), I say to myself, "Self, why are you doing this?" Well I can only think of so many reasons to quit, but an hour or so later, I find myself huddled outside with the other smokers. Can you help me - and people like me - who want to quit? Sometimes it takes seeing it in black and white, the reasons we should quit smoking!

Sometimes it really does take a village.

Most of us, at some point in our lives, smoke that first cigarette. Sometimes it is peer pressure, sometimes it is to be cool, sometimes it is just stupidity. Whatever the reason people smoke that first cigarette, a couple of things happen.

Some people never do it again. (good for you!)

Some people continue to smoke socially.

Some people become addicted.

Whatever reason we start, lots of smokers don't want to keep smoking, so they think about quiting, but then don't. There is a multi-million dollar "stop smoking" industry, but sometimes it just takes a few words of encouragement to help someone quit. This site is dedicated to those who would like to quit smoking.

One of the things I've recently done to make this page more useful is I've started doing a little research for other lenses that support the "quit smoking" effort without getting too preachy.
