Our Home and Native Land
Our family never did any travelling when I was growing up so it has always one of my dreams. I think I'm a natural explorer even though I never really venture far from home.
Money can be a big hindrance to travelling but my husband and I bit the bullet twice over the past four years and decided if we were ever going to do it it was best to do it now.
We divided our trip into two adventures. The first. Driving from Eastern Ontario to Nova Scotia stopping in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island along the way. The second, RVing with the in-laws to British Columbia. We saw a lot of places but not nearly enough to say we've seen it all. It's so big! There's still so much to see.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
Nanabijou
The Sleeping Giant or Sibley as she is known to long-term residents is a peninsula that hugs the shores of Thunder Bay, Ontario protecting it from Lake Superior. The rock formations on the peninsula resemble a reclining figure with arms folded across its chest. Of course there are many legends surrounding the figure but the most common is that is an ancient Ojibway narrative about Nanna Bijou, the Spirit of the Deep Sea Water, who was turned to stone when one of his people was tricked into sharing the whereabouts of the tribe's silver mine.As part of a provincial park its protected boreal forests and man-made trails provides a home for an array of wildlife from deer, moose and fox to shore and water birds like the heron and loon.

- My husband and I are in the process of getting our passports...we've visited Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia several times but not since the passport requirement came into effect. We're not that far from the Canadian border, actually, so traveling there would be relatively easy and fun.
So my contribution to your list would be the Butchart Gardens in Victoria. Just lovely. We also took a tour bus through Victoria. The driver/tour guide was really knowledgeable and entertaining.
Now I am REALLY eager to get that passport!

- Great lens. I am also a proud Canadian. You missed the one place in Canada I want to visit the most - Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland.
