Road Trip!
Ranked #10,662 in Travel & Places, #269,857 overall
Time for a road trip?
If you love road trips this is your master plan for an awesome time. 10 days along the beautiful Atlantic coastline. From the legendary New York City, New York to the breathtaking Florida beaches. If you are lucky enough to live in New York then you have probably already seen what is on our agenda for day 1 and are ready to hit the road for day 2. If not then you may of decided to fly in. My suggestion is to fly into New York at night so that you can view the spectacular city lights. Make sure you get that window seat. If you are close enough and decided to drive into New York, make sure you brought along your gps, because you will need it. New York roads can sometimes be a little confusing and a little congested. Well let's get on our way to taking a preview of the sites we can see on the way. Find out some great places to eat and things we just don't want to miss on our trip along interstate 95. We are gonna travel until the interstate "ENDS".
So much help to have a handy portable GPS!
New York
DAY 1 NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Ok so what is to see and do in New York? Well there are tons of sites to see I could list like a hundred. Some of the more popular ones though would include The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
The Statue of Liberty is located on a 12 acre island. Highest visitation is during the months of June through September. The current park hours are from 8:30am - 6:15 pm. There is no fee's to visit the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island. But you do have to pay for the ferry to get there. Fairy fee's range from $5-$12 per person depending on age.

Cut down on lodging costs. Switch places driving and rest in the car. Another great idea is to bring a tent and find a camping site. If you are down for the outdoors this will majorly cut your road trip costs.
New Jersey
DAY 2 CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY
The must see place in New Jersey would have to be Adventure Aquarium. It is located on Riverside Dr. in Camden. This place has tons of stuff to do an see. It is almost like a Zoo. They have lots of different types of fish and other animals, like sharks, hippos, birds, seals and even penguins.
This is a stop that you can't miss. Check out their website for a preview. They have a 3D online virtual tour. Do make sure you mark this one on your list of road trip destinations. You wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to touch a real shark, now would you?
It is opened from 9:30am-5:30pm daily. Adults are $19.95 and kids (2-12) are $15.95, children under two are free.

Have a plan!
Be prepared. Don't forget to start with the planning. Make your own road trip checklist. Include things you need to do before, like vehicle maintenance, stuff that you need to pack, like snacks, first aid, jumper cables, etc. Map out your entire trip. And most important budget your entire trip. Don't forget food costs, lodging, attractions, and gas.

DAY 3 Newark, Delaware
Driving through Delaware on I-95 will be a short trip. Not a whole lot to see. Or is there? While driving through Newark you can see Iron Hill right off the highway. Stop in and check out the Cooch's Bridge. You will be excited to set your eyes on this site, after learning about the revolutionary war history that comes with it.

Cooch's Bridge, Newark, Delaware
Use less gas!!
Don't speed and don't put the pedal to the medal. Do ease off the pedal and coast to a stop. Don't run the a/c, it eats up gas. Do inflate your tires fully.

DAY 4 Baltimore Maryland
You can have lots of fun on your stop here in Baltimore. The Inner Harbor is the happening spot to visit. It is a square shaped waterfront lined with many attractions. You can pack in a full day of fun in just a few hours. Some of the places to see include the Harborplace, The Baltimore World Trade Center, The National Aquarium and the Baltimore Maritime Museum. If you need a little rest from your road trip travels you can spend the night at the Renaissance Harbor Place Hotel. Baltimore really does have a lot to offer.

DAY 5 RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
Well Richmond, Virginia is a beautiful place. If you love the outdoors then you will love Richmond. Tons of neat attractions like the Edgar Allen Poe Museum, Richmond National Battlefield Park, Ghost Walk, The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and the Meadown Farm Museum. And save some money by camping at the Pocahontas State Park. They have lots of activities, but may I suggest to check out the pool there. A great rest from your on the road time. Fun is always funner when witnessing history with your own two eyes at the very same time.

Don't Forget
Keep less stressed on your ride. If you are bringing the kids bring lot's to do. Have a cooler full of snacks and drinks. Stop often to stretch. Search online for some great travel games.
North Carolina
DAY 6 ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA
Of coarse there is really not much explanation here. The Rocky Mountains is an attraction in itself. This is one of the things you can't miss on your I-95 adventure. Whether you just drive by and enjoy the view or stop in for some horse back riding.

DAY 7 SOUTH CAROLINA
Right across the state line into South Carolina is a exciting little place to visit called South Of The Border in Dillon. You won't miss it with the 120 billboards that you just passed by telling you all about it. At first you may almost feel as if you are visiting Mexico, but you will love the shops, and resturants and the views at night, when everything is all lit up. It is almost like a Las Vegas slash Mexico. .

DAY 8 SAVANNAH GEORGIA
There are some great attractions in Savannah but the main reason I would tell you to stop off here is the scenery. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. And the people in Savannah are some of the nicest you will find anywhere. If your road trip has been a little stressful this would be a great place to spend the day and unwind. Stretch your legs and breath some of Savannah's fresh air.
Florida
DAY 9 ST.AUGUSTINE FLORIDA
St.Augustine is one of the most awesome things to see. It is the oldest city in the Nation. So with that being said it is surely a holder of many things historic and interesting. My favorite place to visit the is the Castillo de San Marcos. It is a spanish for built some time between 1672 and 1695. The most unique thing about it is that it was built with shellstone from the area. Also visit the oldest wooden school house, the authentic city jail, and the Potter's Wax Museum .

Final Destination
DAY 10 MIAMI, FLORIDA
So the end to a wonderful road trip is staying the night at one of the most exciting beaches, Miami Beach. There is so much to do here. The night life is one of a kind. You may enjoy this last day so much that you don't want to go back home. Some of the popular places in Miami are the Art Deco District and Haulover Beach. Haulover Beach happens to be the city's only haven for nudists. Something you may or may not want to see. But all in all the sunset's are beauty in Miami.
