Aspirations equal ambition, hope, desire, wishes and should be a part of your dream for life. Being comfortable and content is not a bad thing. What can be sad though is if through comfort and content we pass up on finding something deeper and more meaningful.

Consider asking yourself these 10 questions, ponder them thoughtfully and passionately, making them a part of your "get up and on with life" song! Re-examine your answers from time to time because as we know, life is ever changing and you'll be amazed how your views transform.

How-To Benefit From This Lens

  1. Write down these questions and your answers in a journal or notebook
  2. Add your comments in questions 1 - 10! Vote it to #1 :-)
  3. Be reminded that this venue is for sparking thought...positive please.

#1 What do I really want?

Wants and needs are often interspersed yet do not mean the same thing. Want is something you would like to have, whereas a need is something you have to have to survive.

Both.

#2 Should I really change?

Change does not need to be scary or threatening; it can mean seeing things in a whole new light and offers us the chance to reflect on present and past experiences!

Yes, I find too much time consumed by things that aren't truly priorities.

1 point

Yes, I find I lack energy, I've somehow lost balance

#3 What's the bright side in all of this?

Believe it or not, the bright side is you! Putting your best foot forward and honestly looking for the positive can make a huge difference for how you face the moment, your day, the rest of your life!

Feeling empowered, stronger and more confident that at the end of life I will have no regrets

3 points

Once again I find myself challenged.

I would not want to not be challenged.0 points

#4 Am I comfortable with what I'm doing?

Sometimes it is just easier to go with the status quo. Comfort in our skin takes a little skill and attitude, ultimately confirms our uniqueness. Challenge yourself to wiggle, squirm and get out of the box!

For the most part, if there wasn't some discomfort it probably wouldn't be much of a change!

3 points

I'm comfortable with most of what I'm doing.

#5 Have I done enough for myself?

It is easiest to overlook ourselves even while we work at self-improvement. Make sure that you only dangle discontentment for motivation, never let it allow you to give in or give up!

Yep, you need to matter to yourself first.

Not sure. Trying.

#6 Am I happy at where I am today?

Happiness comes in different doses. It's immediate when you flash a smile or without thought open a door to someone struggling! More intense when you reflect on your life and feel in your bones it means something different from what you are experiencing!

I am happy with where I am going

2 points

Sort of.

#7 What is my appeal?

Benefit from making yourself recognizable not unforgettable! Without discounting who you really are, learn to 'shape-shift' and fit in all aspects of life. Hangin' with your grungy friends...stink if you must. Meeting 'the person of your dreams' for the first time...put a comb through your hair, show some self respect. Gather your attitude, appearance included, when going for that golden job! Shine!

Taking pride in what I display outwardly/appearance and in my actions/who I am.

#8 What do I truly desire?

Make this about yourself if you want to, ultimately it comes down to one thing though, LIFE! If you desire the 'house on the hill', find out about your neighbor. Wanting to make a difference about teen drug abuse in your town, who's talking? Push the envelope!

First to control my own destiny and then assist in assuring the safety and education of all children.

#9 What motivates me?

#10 What really makes me tick?

This is about your passions in life, things that make your heart go pitter-patter or that make you want to jump up on a soap box! So, for you right now, what is it?

Any finished product that I am proud of: a great garden, a successful fund raising campaign, a great lecture....ANYTHING!

Wonderful lens to straighten somebody's path. People usually get lost in life because somehow the tunnel is straight but the end of it is the point of no return. Either you get out of the tunnel quickly by yourself or hoping somebody would pull you out. Well done.
