COUNCIL OF THIRTEEN INDIGENOUS GRANDMOTHERS

For the next 7 Generations: The Grandmothers speak. We are in the 11th hour!

"For many years, a spiritual teacher named Jyoti had been making relations with Indigenous wise women elders. Suddenly she found herself carrying a vision of a circle of Indigenous Grandmothers. Carrying this vision, she was on her way to Africa to meet an African shaman and medicine woman named Bernadette Rebienot. While there, she mentioned her vision to Bernadette and was surprised to hear that Bernadette was having the same vision. They committed to manifesting it. After returning to her home in California, Jyoti and her associate Ann Rosencranz sent out invitations to 16 Indigenous women from around the world to join them in a gathering. The 13 Grandmothers who responded had all received their own visions and heard their own ancestral prophesies. They were told that they would be called together at a critical time in history when their ancient knowledge was needed for the survival of the next generations." ~~For The Next 7 Generations

The Prophecy

The Prophecy states that we are now at a critical time in human history.

Uf we do not change our ways of relating to each other and to our Mother Earth, we will face cataclysmic consequences.

The prophecy also predicted that the Grandmothers would come together to light the way for us.

And so they have.

We come from the 4 directions and what from our traditions will we come forward with?

AWAKENING AND THE RETURN MOVEMENT

from Eckhart Tolle

In most ancient cultures, there must have been an intuitive understanding of this process (onset of the spiritual dimension), which is why old people were respected and revered. They were the repositories of wisdom and pro vided the dimension of depth without which no civilization can survive for long.

In our civilization, which is totally identified with the outer and ignorant of the inner dimension of spirit, the word old has mainly negative con notations. It equals useless and so we regard it as almost an insult to refer to someone as old. To avoid the word, we use euphemisms such as elderly and senior.

The First Nation's "grandmother" is a figure of great dignity. Today's "granny" is at best cute. Why is old considered useless? Be cause in old age, the emphasis shifts from doing to Being, and our civilization, which is lost in doing, knows nothing of Being.

International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers

Part 1 Introduction

International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers Part 1

Meet the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, introduced by Janet Weber, Assistant to the Grandmother's Council. Janet has been affiliated with the Center for Sacred Studies since the mid-1990s, and is an Interfaith Minister. Her work is in support of native elders and teachings of the Sacred Hoop. DESCRIPTION OF THE GRANDMOTHER'S COUNCIL [Compiled by Interfaith Minister Janet Weber, The Center for Sacred Studies] This unique council of indigenous women elders, some who are in their 80s, are from Arctic Alaska, the Amazon/Brazil, Tibet, Nepal, Gabon, tribes in Oregon, Mexico, New Zealand, Lapland, as well as Hopi, Lakota, Arapaho, and Mayan peoples. The Grandmothers Council is heralding the return of the Sacred Feminine on the planet—as foretold in many prophecies. The Grandmothers serve as healers, shamans and spiritual leaders in their communities as well as internationally. The Council was initiated by a visionary woman named Jyoti (Jeanne Prevatt, Ph.D.), who serves as Director of the Center for Sacred Studies in California. The Grandmothers first met in Upstate New York 2004 at the Global Women's Gathering, with Gloria Steinem, Alice Walker, Wilma Mankiller, Tenzing Palmo and others. Every 6 months the Grandmothers meet at another homeland offering prayer ceremonies from their traditions, then holding council on the environment, youth, education, women's wisdom and empowerment, prophecy, protection of ceremony, medicine plants, etc. Past Meetings include in Mexico, Brazil, N. Mexico; plus Dharamsala, India with the Dalai Lama in fall 2006, and the Black Hills, South Dakota in June 2007, homeland of the Lakota people. Most recently, the Grandmothers gathered in October 2007 at the Bioneers Conference in San Francisco, California. In 2008, the Grandmothers will gather in Gabon, West Africa, Spain, France and Italy, The Grandmothers share their wisdom, dreams and concerns and are moving ahead with declarations and networking with other organizations locally and globally.
