The fastest way to really "declutter" is to rent a dumpster. Have it set in your driveway and dump whatever you don't need in there. Pointless moving it around, say from the vacant bedroom to the attic. Efficient decluttering is to dispose of the extraneous stuff accumulated over time - get it out of the house!
Tip: call 1-800-509-3046 to begin your journey to clear space. As a disposal consultant I have been told how good it feels to get rid of the junk.

Use the 80/20 Rule - 80% of the cluttering clearing will come from 20% of the decluttering!

    Create a list of necessities:

Replace all media with a handheld computer.

Living room: Couch, chair, 2 floor lamps
Kitchen: One set of pots / dishes / utensils
Bedroom: bed, pillow, 2 sets of sheets, blanket, quilt, floor lamp
    Wardrobe: 2 weeks of outfits
Bathroom: 3 sets of towels, one set of cosmetics

Extra tables and bureaus are not really needed.

Reduce-reuse-and recycle. It helps the environment and generally also other individuals when you drop off used items at thrift or goodwill stores.

My house would make your head spin (because it's so cluttered) I love all of your great ideas and I so want to get my house clean. Thanks for the great tips, can't wait to get started. Now I just need to get my slob of a wife on board with this plan. Any tips on how I can declutter my marriage? I'm joking, I'm joking. 5*
