Spanish Bay is also home to "The Links at Spanish Bay," a Scotland themed golf course that closely replicates the country of Scotland with its shoreline appearance. They even utilize a Scottish bagpiper to enhance the traditional experience.

This tree has stuck in its roots and stood its ground over years of abuse from natural forces such as wind and ocean spray to become a point of interest along the 17 Mile Drive. The presence of similar trees gives you that eerie or mysterious feeling that comes with pirate ships creeping through the fog in pirate movies, but that is just your imagination (or did pirates once lurk through the seas off the coast of Monterey?). That is the mysterious outlook that fits well with The Ghost Tree.

    I absolutely love 17-Mile Drive and this part of California. We've camped at Laguna Seca several times and have friends who live at the racetrack in their RV part of the year. Your beautiful photos really make me want to go back for another visit.

    Thanks for reminding me of my drive. I am from Texas and Oklahoma and saw my first Ocean from Pebble Beach.
