I saw Ogyen Trinley Dorje on his first trip to the US in Boulder Colorado. He is AWESOME. I also received my Buddhist name from Thrangu Rinpoche who is one of the Karmapa's main teachers. Great site - Five Stars

I am a Kagyu from the "other side," and am pleased to see a such a balanced presentation of this controversy. I believe that the Dalai Lama is mistaken in this case. He is imminently qualified in spiritual matters, but has not fared so well in political decisions (i.e., Shoko Asohara). His support of the "Gelupka Karmapa" seems to have fallen in to the realm of political.
