Make a Winter Hat for your American Girl Doll - Free Crochet Pattern
I love making all sorts of American Girl Doll Crafts for my daughters. This Christmas my youngest daughter is getting a wooden sled for her doll. I thought it would be cute to make a winter coat and accessories to go along with it. I came up with this quick and easy crochet pattern for a winter hat. It was rather plain on its own but a simple crocheted flower is just the thing to jazz it up a bit. I thought I would put this free crochet pattern online so others could make it too. These cute little hats would make great stocking stuffers!

Free Crochet Pattern - 18 inch doll Hat
The hat is worked in a round. Do not join rounds unless noted. Use a safety pin or stitch marker to keep your place.Round 1: Ch 2, 12 sc in 2nd ch from hook (12)
Round 2: sc in each st around (12)
Round 3: 2 sc in each st around (24)
Round 4: sc in each st around (24)
Round 5: * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * around. (32)
Round 6: sc in each st around (32)
Round 7: sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st. Repeat from * around. (40)
Rounds 8-12: sc in each st around (40)
Round 13: * sc in next 8 sts, sc next 2 sts tog. Repeat from * around. Join. (36)
Round 14: * ch 3, skip next st, sl st in next st. Repeat from * around. Join in first st. Finish off.

Keep Your Yarn Tangle Free!
When I crochet, I use a yarn holder to ensure my yarn stays clean and tangle-free. The yarn feeds out the hole at the top. It saves so much hassle!
Free Crochet Pattern - Flower Embellishment
Work in rounds for this pattern. Do not join.Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook (6 sc)
Round : 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Round : * Sl st in next st, (sc, dc, tc, dc, sc) in next st *. Repeat from * around. Join in initial sl st. (6 petals)
Finish off. Sew a button in the center of the flower. Sew flower to hat, referring to photo for placement.
