Pendleton South Carolina's Front Porch
I think it was Pendleton SC's Mayor Carol Burdette who first referred to the Farmers Hall as Pendleton SC's Front Porch. I really like that term and think that it is so appropriate because, when you enter our beautiful town square, the Farmers Hall is the first thing you see.
One of the finest restaurants in Pendleton South Carolina is 1826 On The Green. The Farmers Hall with it's magestic columns is the home to 1826 On The Green, a wonderful restaurant where friends can meet for lunch or couples can enjoy a romantic dinner.

Lorett says that she is in business in Pendleton because, unlike most people, she has had the wonderful opportunity to have a restaurant in a fabulous historic building twice in her life: Once at the Liberty Hall Inn Bed and Breakfast and now at the stately Farmers Hall Building. Lorett likes to say that this building is "Pendleton's Front Porch". When renovations began, The Farmers Society of Pendleton provided her with a blank pallet in this grand old structure and when renovations were complete in June 08, we were able to look back and say "WOW".
Lorett states that she and her husband were totally embraced by this small town and its wonderful residents. "Pendleton is a true diamond in the rough just waiting to reveal its true brilliance. I can only hope that my restaurant will add a small amount of luster to that diamond".
1826 On The Green is a small fine dining restaurant with seating for forty inside and thirty on the front patio (weather permitting). Do not be concerned about the term "fine dining". Our customers receive the epitome of Southern Hospitality. They can choose to dine on low country coastal crab cakes or savor the taste of Bayou Pasta all in casual attire. We offer a wide variety of fresh made salads and homemade soups daily. Prices for lunch start around $7.95 to $10.00. Come and join us soon!
I have had the pleasure of eating lunch and dinner at 1826 On The Green and highly recommend it for either that very special evening or just meeting friends for lunch.

What is the Farmers Hall?
The Farmers Hall in Pendleton South Carolina
Home of 1826 On The Green Restaurant

The Pendleton Farmers Society Hall, now home of 1826 On The Green Restaurant, was erected between the years 1826 to 1828. The Farmers Society Hall has been the meeting place for the society since that time and is the oldest Farmers Hall still in continuous use in the United States. The second floor of the meeting hall is where Thomas Green Clemson strongly campaigned for a state agricultural college, what is known today as Clemson University. John C. Calhoun, former Vice President of the United States, was among the members of the society.

- My wife and I were engaged at the Farmers Hall in 1980 and were grateful to be able to return for our 25th anniversary a few years ago. The waitress thought we were ancient but glad to hear you're going strong.

- Great lens and Nancy your the best but the restaurant is the best of the best dining experience. The food is great.... my favorite is the Bayou Pasta and the escargo for a starter (bring on the butter and garlic)..... al fresco dining on the square is priceless.
A great lunch, early cocktail, and unforgettable dinner awaits at 1826.
