Hardy Boys!

Hello! My name is Morgan. I run an ebay store by the name of Morgan's Box of Books! I sell and specialize in Hardy Boys and some Nancy Drew. I also sell several similar books. Stop by and take a peek!

Sadly, because of the new Lead law many thrift stores and the like are being forced to throw out any childrens books older than 1985. If you find some, please give them a good home!

Why Hardy Boys?

I became a Hardy Boys fan when I was about 11. I used to go to the library and get stacks of them! Eventually I built up a collection of my own from gifts and book fairs.

I began buying books of ebay to fill in the gaps in my collection, and discovered that many times if I bought a big lot, I would get doubles. So, I figured, I bought them here, why not sell them here? I began selling my extra Hardy Boy books. I soon found myself buying lots to break up and resell...and the rest is history!

A bit about the Hardy Boys.

Beginning in 1927, The Hardy Boys is one of the longest running and most popular book series for children to date.
The original Hardy Boys Series, that is the first 59 books, including the Detectives Handbook, were produced until 1979. The boys ventured off onto several more of their own series; including the more mature themed Casefiles and the classic style Digests.
Originally written By Leslie McFarlane, many other authors have used the name Franklin W. Dixon to give the boys endless mysteries and adventures!
Revisions to the first 38 titles began in 1959, during which time the books were "modernized" by eliminating ethnic and racial stereotypes, and updating the way the characters talked. The story lengths were reduced, which often removed some of the charm from the original stories. While some titles had only minor revisions made, others had the stories completely rewritten.

Some of My Favorites

Here, I will give you an look at some of my favorite titles. I will switch them up often, so keep checking! Often the books I feature have a few revisions in which the story may vary a bit. For the orignal story, the orignal copies are your best bet, or the ones that don't say "This is a Revised edition of the orignal story", or something to that degree, on the back of the title page.
Please click on the book to purchase a copy!

The Sinister Signpost
It all starts when Fenton Hardy, is engaged by an experimental race car and motor designer to investigate a series of mysterious accidents. Three of his drivers have crashed because the windshields of their cars were suddenly crazed, thus cutting off forward vision. Frank and Joe uncover one slim clue. Each of the drivers had seen a signpost marked 'Danger' shortly before the accident.

A Figure In Hiding
While investigating the theft of a valuable idol, Frank and Joe encounter a terrified business man, a walking mummy, a friend in distress, and a weird glass eye

The Great Airport Mystery

Falsely accused of a robbery at the airport, the Hardy Boys turn the tables on the real thieves by nabbing them in the act of committing another robbery.

Of course I also sell Nancy Drew, we can't leave her out! Check out some of her adventures!

Nancy's Mysterious Letter

By mistake Nancy Drew receives a letter for an heiress, also named Nancy Drew. When Nancy undertakes a search for the missing young woman, it becomes obvious that a ruthless, dangerous man is determined to prevent her from finding the heiress or himself. Clues that Nancy unearths lead her to believe that the villainous Edgar Nixon plans to marry the heiress and then steal her inheritance.
During her investigation Nancy discovers that Nixon is engaged in a racket that involves many innocent, trusting persons. The thrilling hunt for Nixon and the heiress takes Nancy in and out of many perilous situations.

How the teen-age detective saves the British heiress from the sly, cunning schemer makes a highly intriguing story of mystery and suspense.

The Clue Of The Dancing Puppet
A mysterious dancing puppet is haunting the grounds of the old Van Pelt estate, home of the local acting troupe, The Footlighters. Nancy, Bess, and George's investigation is a dangerous one, but a rewarding one in the end when an old family mystery is solved.

A blast from the past! I read all the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books (as well as the Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators series) when I was a kid. I hope my kids will also enjoy them.
