1956 Volvo PV444

Betsy, my old volvo

I am only the third owner of this fine vintage automobile, having purchased her from my across the creek neighbor in 1981, who had got her from the folks who purchased her originally from a car dealer down in the Bay Area.

the story I got was this car was the first volvo sold in the western United States when Volvo started exporting to the USA.

I never checked it out, but it sure sounded good.

about 1988 or so the motor started rattling up in the timing chain cover and into the barn she went, with 335,000 miles on the odometer. The motor had never been torn apart in that entire time.
Actually, it still hasn't been torn apart, as she has been sitting on the AfterWhilePile ever since.

I have a 91 Volvo 740 turbo that might be donating parts for a resurrection, or a small diesel would be really nice.
