The Nomad - America's Favorite Station Wagon
One of the most iconic cars of the 1950's is the Chevy Nomad station wagon. These wagons were made from the mid-50's until the early 1970's and featured incredible styling while transporting thousands of families around the country.
The 1957 Nomad pictured here featured fuel injection and a Super Turbo Fire V8 engine. As these wagons were based off the popular Chevy Bel Air car, fuel injection was quite rare in those times and these fuelie wagons are very popular among collectors today. The 1957 model would be the final year of the original body type.
The 57 Nomad pictured sold at auction recently for $31,000 after not selling several times at the $34,000 reserve.
