1959 Fender Stratocaster Guitar For Sale

1959 was a year of many changes for Fender and their guitar production company. The Fender Stratocaster guitar itself went through many changes throughout the year, including the rosewood fingerboards available on guitars made after July of that year. The pickguard from Strats made mid-year in '59 are the celluloid mint green three layers variety.

There was a problem with the finish on the sunburst 1959 Stratocasters. The dye used was very sensitive to sunlight, and therefore most of these guitars have since faded from a 3 color sunburst to just 2 colors. The red versions of the 59 strat also had fading issues.
