The Music That Shaped A Generation
I am a child of the '60's.
And I survived to tell about it.
These times are not so different. We still have dogs. We still think dogs rule.
The other day the Inauguration of President Obama looked like Woodstock and was just as peaceful.
Maybe it took this long for the vision of the 1960's to catch up.
Maybe the assassinations, the drugs, the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights movement made it possible for us to be where we are today, when what used to be Counter Culture is actually now Mainstream.
Did it all start with the music?
The music from that era still makes me want to dance--long into the night!
In-Joy and relax as you watch the movies on this lens.
In-joy the memories.

A Medley Of '60's Songs By The Best
Gimme Shelter
When I was homeless, living in the woods, I hallucinated this song in my head as a symphony.
So naturally, this song belongs here, with the rest of 'em!!
Remember Bonnie And Clyde?
1960's Music Revolution: Feed my Head
1960 Memorabilia
Twist And Shout!!
Remember "To Kill A Mockingbird?"

Remember Those Sleek Cool Cars?

Sympathy For The Devil--Live
Get Down, Mick
He takes off his shirt and wows us with beautiful tatoos!!
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all, it was you and me.
Peace Train
I love this song so much but at one time, hadn't heard it for over ten years.
Then one day I was driving through the Square of Downtown, Lancaster, PA, and this song came on the radio.
I got so excited that I crashed into the car in front of me, the car of the photographer of the local TV station.
We exchanged cards and went on with our day.
If you had to crash, this was the way to do it!!
Joan Baez Playing and Singing: It Ain't Me Babe, 1965
I love to play this song on my violin!
It is really a spirited song.
Makes me want to burn my bra!!
Jefferson Airplane Live, 1968, Monteray Folk Festival
These songs are outstanding and I had to add this.

- What a fun lens! I was born in '69, so I really wasn't too into music until the early 80's. But I've always really liked the music of the 60's. My father was a radio DJ from '49 through '69, so I grew up listening to a lot of music from those eras.
