My Favorite 1970's Electronics

Ranked #1,645 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #17,626 overall

The 1970's were a banner year for all things electronic. People were fascinated by things with buttons, lights and beeps.

Though most of the gadgets were pretty simple compared to today's high tech stuff we still enjoyed the 1970's Electronics wave. So take a step back in time and see what was popular back in the 1970's!

How To Fix A Broken 8-Track Tape
Now this is a must have site. Fixeing your broken 8 track player should be high on your list of priorities. Along with washing you fuzzy dice and stocking up on tube socks.
Aces & Kings Pinball By Williams
Yes, Pinball was not only fun in the 1970's it was cool too!
The LED
or Light-emitting diode for those of you who are not 1970's tech savvy. LED technology was responsible for really cool watches that my husband still covets.

Atari

To say that I went a little over board on Atari was an understatment. I loved Atari. My favorite games were Space Invaders, Astroids, Missle Command and Pit Fall. I played for hours and never got bored. To this day my husband and I like to drag out the old 2600 and beat each other at Pac-Man.

Merlin Handheld Electronic Game

Yes I had one. At the time Merlin was really cool. Merlin was invented by Bob Doyle a Harvard PHd and inventor who worked for NASA. You could play Tic-Tac-Toe, Echo, Black Jack and it also had a groovy Music Machine. If you had 3 or 4 friends that all had a Merlin you could get this really freaky synthesizer sound.

I recently added a Merlin to my game collection. Now it holds your interest for about 3 minutes. I must have gotten a lot smarter since the 1970's!

Later Parker Brothers came out with Master Merlin and Split Second.

PONG

I had this exact same PONG Game. I remember always playing with my cousins and always winning! It was basically table tennis played on TV, but it was really cool. PONG started my love of video games that contines to this day.

Speak N Spell

I really liked the Speak N Spell game. Educational and fun. What better way to learn how to spell! It also had a cool cousin, the blue Speak N Math.

The electronic voice however was a bit annoying yet cool at the same time!

How do you spell...Owl...O-W-L.

Good times!
