My Top 10 Favorite Songs From The 1980s

The 80s was the best decade ever for music. I had so many favorite songs from then. It was hard to choose just 10 songs but I did it and I wanted to share them with you.

Prince changed his name in 1993 as a symbol. He has recorded music both alone and with other artist. He is ranked 28 in Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Musicians Of All Time.
9. Sister Christian

- Midnight Madness

Sister Christian was from the album Midnight Madness. The song only made it to #5 on the Billboards in 1984.
Night Ranger failed to make it to the big time unlike most. Sister Christian however gave them a boost in sales and made them more noticeable in the public eye.. In 1989 the band split up.

Thriller was released in 1982, it became the best selling album of all time and it still remains. Billie Jean hit #1 on the billboards in 1983.
Michael Jackson is the man who changed music.. He has been considered King Of Pop. He is still known as one of the best male entertainers ever.

She's So Unusual was released in 1983. Time After Time hit # 1 on the Billboards in 1984.
Cindi Lauper wrote most of her own music. She was one of the first females to have 5 consecutive hits on 1 album. She is still singing today.

Synchronicity was released in 1983. Every Breath You take hit #1 on the Billboards in 1983.
The Police broke up 1 year after their album synchronicity had been released. After their reunion in 2007 they became the worlds highest earning musicians in 2008. They are ranked 70 in Rolling Stones 100 Greatest Musicians Of All Time.
5. You Shook Me All Night Long.

- Back In Black


Back In Black was released in 1980. You Shook Me All Night Long hit 35 on the bill boards in 1980.
Although AC/Dc has seen band members come and go, they are ranked at # 72 on The Greatest Musicians Of All Time in Rolling Stones. They released ther newest album in 2008.

Like A Virgin was released in 1984. It hit #1 on the Billboards in 1984.
Madonna has been both a singer and actress. She is now working on her final album which will include some of her greatest hits.
3. Sweet Child O Mine

- Appetite For Destruction


1987 Appetite for Destruction was released, it became the fastest selling album of all time. In 1988 Sweet Child O Mine hit #1 on the Billboards.
Since the split up in 1996, Axel Rose has taken a whole new direction while Slash, Duff McKagen and Matt Sorum formed Velvet Revolver.
GNR was my favorite rock band as a teen, it still remains one of the greatest rock bands ever.

Slippery When Wet was released in 1986, it became the fastest selling album of 1997.
Livin On A Prayer hit #1 in 1987 on the billboards.
Bon Jovi was the first rock tape that I bought as a teen. It's hard to believe the band is still together today.

Faster Then The Speed Of Night as released in 1983. Total Eclipse Of The Heart Reached #1 on the Billboards in 1983.
Although Bonnie Tyler failed to be a big hit in the United States she was in many other countries. The album Faster Then The Speed Of Night Was her only top selling album in the United States.

Their you have it, my 10 favorite songs from the 80s. This may not even be songs you like but this was a great experience for me. Their is several reasons I chose these songs, I'm not going to go in to that right now. The main thing is I hope you enjoyed this lens.
