90s Music

Here is everything you need to know about 90s music. The 1990s experienced what a lot of people have called a musical renaissance in the early 1990s with the invention of grunge music. Bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden formed in Seattle and took the mainstream rock radio stations by storm. It was a sound that rock music fans had been looking for. With the solid base at the beginning of the decade, it brought upon several solid acts referred to as post-grunge bands. These include some of the most popular rock bands today; Collective Soul, Live, Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, and many, many others.

Then there is the whole other side of the 90s, popular music. There were intensely popular artists from the 90s that for the most part have burned out. Some have broke through the barrier that the 90s have created such as Christina Aguilera who is just as popular today as when she released, "Genie in a Bottle". Other such pop acts like Boy Bands from yester year are no longer performing or have turned into solo acts.

Euro Pop was one of the highlights of 90s music. The days of Ace of Base, The Real McCoy, and Aqua are over but the their school dance nostalgia lives on. For the most part Euro Pop is no longer popular in the US but 90s will always be the decade that welcomed it with open arms.

Then of course there was the hip hop music that finally hit its stride in the 90s. With two of the greatest rappers ever Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. making rap more accessible to the nation as a whole, hip hop became a widespread popular culture throughout the US. With other such popular acts as Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre cranking out hit after hit, rap was finally a force to be reckoned with on radio and TV.
