1Password Review: Mac Password Manager Software for Mac OSX

Are You Using the Same Password for All Your Membership sites? Want to have more secure passwords and limit your risk of identity theft?

It's time for you to learn about... 1Password.

If you want to use strong and safe OS X secure password manager then take a look at 1Password. 1Password is the best mac osx password manager software. It is a safe password manager and the easiest way for you as an Apple Mac user to store, generate and use your passwords for all the sites you are a member of. You never have to try remembering your user name and passwords again becauseĀ  1Password is right there to keep you safe and secure online and is the best mac software to store user passwords.

Why Do You Even Need 1Password Mac Software to Store Passwords on Apple Mac OSX?

There are other applications including your browser that can store passwords. Are these safe? Not as safe as 1Password. Here's Why!

As a web designer and developer, I know it just isn't safe to use only one password for every site that you need to login to. What if only one of those sites becomes hacked and your password is used to compromise other websites that you might visit. Would you want to take that risk? I don't and I've seen the backend of many web sites built by beginning programmers that do not store user passwords securely. 1Password ensures that you easily generate a new password for each site where you need a login.

I currently store almost 650 different passwords using 1Password software. That is 650 websites that I have memberships to and some of those I don't visit that often so remembering the passwords can be pretty tough especially if I haven't been there for some time. The best part is that each one of those sites I visit has a strong unique password and I don't need to remember any of them. To be effective in generating and using great password requires that you use the best apple password program.

Why You Can't Just Use the Firefox Browser to Remember Your Passwords

Browsers like Firefox & Internet Explorer are great for browsing but not for storing your passwords

Firefox and other browsers like it are great for browsing the web and they even remember your passwords for you.

WAIT...

The simple fact is the password features aren't safe enough in browsers. Browsers are great for browsing, that's what they are designed for. Below is a quick Google search for Firefox password security issues, you will find a number of vulnerabilities that potentially leave your passwords open to being used maliciously by an attacker. This is not just a Firefox problem but browsers in general.

The greatest but I want to use the Chrome browser

spindigg says:

J.Jimenez... Not sure why your having a problem with 1Password. I've now been using it since May 2007 and I have never experienced anything like what you have mentioned. Maybe you have another problem that's causing it to be slow.

William Ashworth says:

I do. The iPhone sync feature is awesome. I'd love to have the iPhone sync with the "my 1password" service, though. Send me an invite :)

spindigg says:

I don't think that Apples keychain comes even close to what 1Password can do to make life easier when working with identities and passwords. Go and compare features and you'll soon see that 1Password is a better option for the average Mac user. If you can't spare a few bucks for some great software then use Mac's keychain but I think 1Password is a steal at just $39. Try it and if you don't like it then you can get your money back.

margin-strategies says:

Very informative, thanks.

spindigg says:

Definitely the best mac password manager I have used. One of my favorite Mac Apps.

2011zen says:

I have had many problems Syncing to my Iphone 3G - I did download Drop box, however, it irks me that I had to do so- Still trying to figure out how to use it-

J. Jimenez says:

It takes forever to do anything. Incrediblly bad performance. Even trying to search for items activates the "helpful" automatic search and puts you into Beachball Land before you can type more than two or three letters. Bloatware.

Jared says:

Not much here that Keychain Access doesn't already do.
