In Search of Tiger - Tiger Woods Biography Audio Book
Unique among books about Tiger Woods for the amount of access its author had to Tiger himself.
This is a great book about golf and Tiger Woods. In Search of Tiger Woods is an exceptional audio book.Tom Callahan has written the seminal book on golfing great Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods, who has gone out of his way to protect his privacy, has never allowed himself to get close enough to a writer to be properly examined on the page. Callahan, commonly regarded as one of the best all-round sports writers in the country, has followed Tiger around the world of golf for more than seven years, enjoying a certain access to the man and his family. He even went so far as to travel to Vietnam to learn the fate of the South Vietnamese soldier who was Earl Wood's best friend during the war - and his son's namesake.
Tiger is twenty years old when the book opens and twenty-seven when it closes. During those years, Callahan covered Woods at all the Majors, including the Masters, the U.S. Open, and the British Open, culminating in Tiger's heart-stopping race to make history by clinching the string of Majors affectionately nicknamed the Tiger Slam.
Along the way, Tom Callahan hears from everyone who is anyone in the world of Tiger Woods, including Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, David Duval, Butch Harmon, Ernie Els, and, of course, Tiger's rather ubiquitous mother and father.
As much as we learn about Tiger - how he sees himself in relation to the courses he plays on and the players he has learned from and competed with - we also enjoy a bird's-eye view of golf as it is now with Tiger on the scene, and as it was for centuries before.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
Version for the Xbox 360
Okay, first things first. The gameplay in Tiger Woods PGA Tour doesn't change all that much from year to year, and the 2008 edition is no exception. Sure, there are some new features and more golfers to choose from, but the improvements in gameplay itself might not be worth upgrading if you've already got Tiger 2007. Where this game does come through, however, is in the online options. The ability to play a match online is great, and Gamernet, which allows you to post challenges for other people to attempt and beat, is a lot of fun.
THE GOOD:
-If you're a fan of the franchise you'll enjoy the gameplay in Tiger 2008
-The inclusion of more LPGA golfers is a nice development for female players
-Gameface, when/if it works (the site seems to be unstable and many people haven't been able to make it work), allows you to use a picture of yourself to customize your golfer's face!
-online options are great, and the Gamernet challenges should appeal to people seeking producer points for posting difficult challenges, and those who want to earn player points by beating or "busting" those challenges.
THE BAD:
-New features are, for the most part, good, but Tiger Woods '08 is still basically the same game. Some more innovation would be nice.
-Gameface doesn't work very well for a lot of people, and I've found Gamernet to be pretty buggy as well. You can only have 3 clips up at a time, and taking down your old challenges so you can post new ones can be frustrating. EA seems to offer little to no support for anything related to the online portion of the game.
-The game is STILL buggy. EA released an update that fixed a bug preventing the Tiger Challenge from being completed, but the game still freezes up at times and some of the animations don't work. I've played entire rounds where my opponent didn't have a ball--he was just swinging at the ground and launching nothing into the air.
Overall, Tiger Woods 2008 is probably worth picking up if you don't own any of the recent titles. If you're thinking of upgrading from '07, however, you might want to rent this one first and see if the new stuff is really worth the price of a new game. Personally, if it weren't for the online aspect of the game I'd recommend buying '07 and saving the money, but if you like to play online this one might be worthwhile. -- bixodoido (Utah, USA)

Tiger Woods - Biography
Tiger Woods was a child prodigy, he began to play golf at the age of only 2(!). In 1978, he putted against comedian Bob Hope in a television appearance on The Mike Douglas Show.
At age 3, Woods shot a 48 over nine holes at the Navy Golf Club in Cypress, California, and at age five, he appeared in Golf Digest and on ABC's That's Incredible.
In 1984 at the age of 8 he won the 9-10 boys' event, the youngest age group available, at the Junior World Golf Championships.
Then Tiger Woods won the Junior World Championships six times, including four consecutive wins from 1988-1991.
At age 15, he became the youngest ever U.S. Junior Amateur Champion, was voted Southern California Amateur Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, and Golf Digest Amateur Player of the Year 1991. He successfully defended his title at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, becoming the first multiple winner, competed in his first PGA Tour event, the Nissan Los Angeles Open and was named Golf Digest Amateur Player of the Year, Golf World Player of the Year and Golfweek National Amateur of the Year in 1992.
In 1993, he won his third consecutive U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, and remains the event's youngest-ever and only multiple winner.
In 1994, Tiger Woods became the youngest ever winner of the U.S. Amateur Championship. He was a member of the American team at the 1994 Eisenhower Trophy World Amateur Golf Team Championships and 1995 Walker Cup. Later that year, he enrolled at Stanford University, and won his first collegiate event, the William Tucker Invitational. At Stanford he majored in Economics and was nicknamed "Urkel" by his college teammates.
In 1995, Tiger Woods defended his U.S. Amateur title, and was voted Pac-10 Player of the Year, NCAA First Team All- American, and Stanford's Male Freshman of the Year (an award that encompasses all sports). He participated in his first PGA Tour major, The Masters, and tied for 41st as the only amateur to make the cut.
At age 20 in 1996, Woods became the first golfer to win 3 consecutive U.S. Amateur titles and won the NCAA individual golf championship. In winning the Silver Medal as leading amateur at The Open Championship, Woods tied the record for an amateur aggregate score of 281.

Tiger - The Authorized DVD Collection
Tiger: The Authorized DVD Collection is the real deal: a comprehensive three-part biography of the world's most famous golfer, narrated by Laurence Fishburne and anchored by interviews with Woods himself, his father and mother, and others. The first part, "Tiger's Prowl: His Life" (85 minutes), summarizes his early life, with home movies of him swinging a club as a toddler, his 1975 TV appearance with Bob Hope on The Mike Douglas Show, his U.S. Juniors and U.S. Amateur championships, his time at Stanford, and discussion of his multiracial heritage and how he got his nickname. The second part, "Tiger's Prey: His Majors" (75 minutes) is the best, with less time devoted to talking-head interviews and more to golf footage. From his first major win at the 1997 Masters to the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, Woods either dominates the field by several strokes or shows his steely will to win, such as when he outlasts the surprising Bob May at the 2000 PGA Championship. But it hasn't all been easy for Tiger, and the segment also covers his struggles in 2004, his second straight year without winning a major tournament. The last part, "Tiger's Prints: His Legacy" (65 minutes), might seem premature considering Woods was still under 30 at the time of this 2004 documentary, but there's no doubt that he has already had a major impact on the game, inspiring a new generation of players, convincing the current generation of the need to raise their games to compete, and appealing to an entirely new demographic. Among the other interviewees are legend Jack Nicklaus, friend and fellow pro Mark O'Meara, caddie Steve Williams (but no Fluff Cowan), deposed swing coach Butch Harmon, sportscaster Bob Costas, other-sport superstars Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Charles Barkley, and, for some reason, pop singer Celine Dion.
At 3 hours and 45 minutes, the biography is ungenerously spread over three discs, but there's also an hour of bonus features (most entertaining is a montage of Woods's greatest shots; most substantial is a 24-minute clinic in which he demonstrates his game before an audience), as well as some text features. Tiger: The Authorized DVD Collection is by no means perfect--it needs more golf action, and only rabid fans would watch all the interviews more than once. But in terms of comprehensiveness and the level of Woods's participation, it certainly dwarfs the various video biographies (and TV biopic) that have sprung up ever since that 1997 weekend at Augusta captivated the world. --David Horiuchi
For true Tiger fans this is the ultimate collection, especially since Tiger Woods has been very private about his personal life. In this set he talks about his family and his thoughts and feelings during his childhood and teen years and also shows the fun side of his personality which we rarely see on the golf course. The interviews are a very important part of this collection and the bonus features are the icing on the cake, but if you are mostly interested in actual golf footage, then buy the DVDs of his major wins, but if you want to see the personal side of Tiger this is the Collection to have. -- E. Youngblood (TEXAS)
Tiger woods has truly made me appreciate golf far more than I ever did before. He truly is One of a Kind. He has already changed the game&He up the Ante. He has Won 8 Majors&shows no signs of Slowing down. Props to the Brother for doing His Thing. this is just the start when his career is over He will be Called the Greatest Ever. -- "mistermaxxx" (usa)

The Open Championship - The 2006 Official Film
Tiger Woods's pursuit of an 11th major championship, and his third Claret Jug, is summarized in this 54-minute highlight package of the 2006 British Open at Royal Liverpool. In the wake of the death of his father, Earl, and in his first major since missing the cut at the U.S. Open (his first missed cut at a major), Woods proved not only that he could win the British at a site other than St. Andrews, but that he could win while hardly using his driver. This unlikely strategy paid off in a 18-under-par score that included an amazing eagle on the par-4 14th hole in the second round that even had Woods asking caddy Steve Williams "It went in?" in disbelief. While Sergio Garcia made a third-round run to earn a spot in the final pairing with Woods, the Spaniard collapsed on Sunday and Chris DiMarco, battling his own sadness after the death of his mother, provided the toughest competition down the stretch. But Woods was not to be denied, and his emotional outburst after the final hole was a touching moment. The highlights include the best moments of DiMarco, Garcia, and Ernie Els as well as some off-the-course events (was it really necessary to refer to John Daly as "larger than life"?), but those are all footnotes to watching Woods make history again. --David Horiuchi
Product Description
The return of the Open to the Royal Liverpool Gold Club after a gap of 39 years produced one of the greatest Championships of the modern era with a display of near-flawless shot-making by defending champion Tiger Woods. This film not only tells the story of Tiger s triumph over the world s finest players to claim his third Open title and his first Major since the death of his father but also provides a definitive record of the drama and excitement that surrounded the 135th Open Championship.

The Open Championship - The 2005 Official Film
It's always a special occasion when The Open arrives at St Andrews.Throughout the Championship's long history, the game's greatest players have battled for success over the Old Course. And in 2005 Tiger Woods returned to dominating form, pulling away from a top-class field to repeat his victory in the Millennium Open and take his haul of Majors victories into double figures. The 134th Open at the home of golf was also where Jack Nicklaus chose to end his phenomenal career. His 18 Majors titles included three victories in The Open, two of then at St Andrews, and 50,000 spectators crowded the Old Course in an emotional farewell. The official film of The 134th Open tells in full the story of the world's oldest and greatest golf Championship. It includes not only Tiger's victory and Jack's farewell, but all the moments of drama and outstanding play that made it so memorable.
It is an excellent product, the quality of the picture is very sharp and the shooting angle is very very good. I was very impressed with this product in particular. -- David G. Kurniawan (Beijing - China)

Tiger Woods Family
Elin Nordegren - Sam Alexis Woods
In January 2006, Woods and his wife purchased a US$39 million residential property in Jupiter Island, Florida, which they intend to make their primary residence. Woods' Jupiter Island neighbors will include fellow golfers Gary Player, Greg Norman and Nick Price, as well as singers Celine Dion and Alan Jackson.
Early in the morning of June 18, 2007, Elin gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter, Sam Alexis Woods, in Orlando, Florida. The birth occurred just one day after Woods finished tied for second in the 2007 U.S. Open. Tiger chose to name his daughter Sam because his late father said that Tiger looked more like a Sam.

He began his tradition of wearing a red shirt during the final round of tournaments, a link to his college days at Stanford and a color he believes symbolizes aggression and assertiveness.
In April 1997, Woods won his first golf major, The Masters, by a record margin of 12 strokes, becoming the youngest Masters winner and the first winner of African or Asian descent. He set a total of 20 Masters records and tied 6 others. He won another three PGA Tour events that year, and on June 15, 1997, in only his 42nd week as a professional, rose to number one in the Official World Golf Rankings, the fastest ever ascent to world No. 1.He was named PGA Player of the Year, the first golfer to win the award the year following his rookie season.
Then Tiger Woods' form faded in the second half of 1997, and in 1998 he only won one PGA Tour event. Woods answered critics of his "slump" and what seemed to be wavering form by maintaining he was undergoing extensive swing changes with his golf swing coach, Butch Harmon, and was hoping to do better in the future.
