20 Top-Selling Toys Christmas 2011

Here is my best effort to identify the top 20 toys on every kids wish list and to identify the lowest price vendor for each toy.

I do this with a bit of trepidation, as prices can and do change. Even more of an issue this year is the tight inventories retailers have due to the current economic uncertainty. more likely than not, many of these toys will sell out sooner rather than later. This is exacerbated I am afraid by lists like this one which help people find the hot toys and buy them in the hopes of reselling them just before Christmas at huge profits.

While I recognize this risk, I still feel my efforts here are justified to help you find the best prices for the toys your kids want.

In preparing this list, I focused on the nation's top five toy retailers. Amazon, Kmart, Target, Wal-mart and Toys-R-Us and the prices they had on their web sites when I did the study in early November. As I mentioned above these retailers can and do adjust prices as the season progresses to reflect their own inventory status and sales. So be aware that you may find price variations from time to time.

Buying your gifts online is a smart move, it saves you time and travel expense while avoiding the crowded malls. These are all reputable retailers so you can buy with confidence. But be sure to get your shopping done as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
