Hummingbirds...Feeding them, and Watching Them
I have been fascinated by hummingbirds since I was a small boy. I used to spend summers on my Grandparents farm, and they always had hummingbirds that came to the flowers near their house. My Grandmother grew many types of flowers, but the ones that I remember the hummingbirds coming to were the Poppies, Cleome, and her Rose of Sharon bushes. Being an ornery foolish little boy, I always wanted to try to catch them. They were so close to the ground, and would let me get almost within reach, before they would buzz off. It was almost as if they were having fun toying with me.
I was looking at some of the neat looking feeders out there, and I thought I might as well put some of them on this page, and share them with everybody.
The intro photo is mine. The beautiful individual photos of hummingbirds contained on this page are from Allposter.com, and are linked to their individual product pages.

Hummingbird food recipe.
They have that pretty nectar for sale in stores, but hummingbirds don't need the fancy color. Sugar water will meet their needs perfectly. It is really pretty simple to make hummingbird nectar. You mix 1 cup of sugar, to 4 cups of water. Large quantities can be made ahead of time, by boiling the mix, and letting it cool, and keeping it refrigerated. It will keep in the refrigerator for a week to two weeks. *Always cool before using*
Never pour boiling water into a glass container, because it will break.
