The Volkswagen Golf is a compact car / small family car manufactured by Volkswagen since 1974 and marketed worldwide across six generations, in various body configurations and under various nameplates -- prominently as the Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada (Mk1 and Mk5), and as the Volkswagen Caribe in Mexico (Mk1).

Question: How do you change the bulb in an 2006 VW Golf wing mirror blinker?
Answer: you cannot change the bulb in the mirror indicator it is a sealed unit previous answer is for the wing repeater lens and not the mirror indicator

We got a car with clean car history for $10000. The salesman said it was a 4000 dollar mistake. It was supposed to be 14000 but it was a typo. We said it was false advertising so we got the car. Is it a mistake?
Answer: looks like the salesman was trying to pull one of his scams on you. its a tactic they use - they advertise the price of a car, like this rabbit, for a low price (like 10000) to attract buyers. the buyer will then come to the dealership, ready to buy a car, but then finds out that the dealer "made a typo". the whole point is to lure in buyers like you into their dealership so they can make you buy their cars.
btw, it was a "mistake" - a 2006 vw rabbit should be about 14000+, 10000 is very cheap
Question: Why do the doors always freeze on my 2006 vw golf? it even happens when it is not all that cold out!?
sprayed the hinges with silicone still doesn't seem to help.
Answer: spray the seals not the hinges with silicone spray

My 2006 VW Golf engine is making noise like a bicycle chain at slow speeds. Does anyone know what type of problem this is? Is this serious?

Answer: New car cloth seats, if you have the money ask the dealer, or if you want take the car to a upholstery shop and have it redone. It might come out cheaper that way. If you where near nyc, I have a great place for you to go.

The car was supplied with Dunlop but I find the traction poor. I was considering Michelin Pilot Sport
Answer: Want maxium performance? Bridgstone RE010R's The street tire that blew all the others away on the skid pad. But you will need a very good installer the side walls are very stiff.
Question: My 2006 VW Golf 2.0 SDi is using about 1 Litre of oil every 6000 miles. Is this normal?
Answer: Since VW recommends an oil change every 5,000 miles, why are you running it 6,000 to even know it's that low? But to answer, I would bet you have some seepage somewhere. That is not a particulary high amount to be losing.

the air con in my vw golf seams to be working when the light on the switch is not illuminating,this seems odd to me as i thought that the light would be illuminating to show that the air con was on.am i right or are these germans trying to confuse us ? i would appreciate any help,ta

I am looking for a set of aristo rims off an R32 to go with my 2006 golf GLS. However I do not know my bolt pattern. I dont know if it is 5x100 or 5x112. Can anyone here tell me. I looked all over the web, and even my manual. Thank you for any imput
Answer: 2006 featured a mid year model change. If you have the newer body style, your car has 5x112. The older body was 5X100.
Question: Should i trade my 03 vw golf against an 06 bmw?
Answer: Do you mean trade it with a friend or trade it IN by spending more money?
If you can trade it (with no money) I would think the BMW is newer so yes.
If you mean trade it in (with MORE money) that depends on your financial situation and what you want.
