Every Vintage is Different!

One of the charms of wine is that every vintage is different, even every wine is different.

True wine lovers (not wine snobs) look for differences. That's what makes wine such a wonderful thing to talk about, to taste and to enjoy.

Well made wines will allow nature to express itself in the bouquet and flavour of the wine.

The climatic conditions, especially during the ripening period, are critical in making a good wine.  Climate change and unseasonal weather conditions  are increasing the variation in the quality of the wines made from year to year.  The wines are not necessarily becoming better or worse, just more variable.

If you like variety, you will like the 2007 Vintage when the wines start appearing a few months from now. If your comfort zone doesn't extend outside homogeneous pulp served by fast food chains then you will be disappointed.

Read on, leave your comments in the guestbook or contact me if you are a winemaker with a story to tell
