2008 Chevrolet Uplander Introduction
The Chevrolet Uplander is a Minivan introduced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors, replacing the Venture and Astro. It is known as one of the first crossovers between the minivan and the SUV. Although introduced for the 2005 model year, it overlapped with the final model years of the Venture (on which the Uplander is heavily based) and Astro. It is built on the same platform as the Saturn Relay, Buick Terraza, and Pontiac Montana SV6. The van is built near Atlanta, Georgia. On November 21, 2005, GM announced that it would close the Doraville, Georgia assembly plant, which produces the Uplander, in late 2008.
Of the four vehicles sharing this platform, there are few differences. The most significant of these is the offering of an integrated child seat in the Uplander LS and that, in the U.S. market, the Uplander is offered in two wheelbases and a cargo version. Suggested retail price for the Uplander ranges from US$21,250-33,795, depending on options. The Uplander is exported to Canada, Chile, Mexico, and the Middle East. It was also the last minivan to be sold in two wheelbases for the Canadian market, since the short-wheelbase Kia Sedona isn't sold there.

Question: Can we pull our new Utah pop up camper safely with a 2008 Uplander or Montana?
According to the GM towing capacities this camper is a little too large when fully loaded. However, it seems every minivan we see lately is pulling the same or similar camper.
The new car salesman said the vehicle wouldn't pull it , we needed to purchase from them a larger model.
The used car salesman said it would pull it, please take his vehicle home.
The camper salesman said everyone does it with no problem.
It seems everyone has a hidden agenda.
Answer: You didn't say what the GVW of the trailer was. Without the weight there's no intelligent way to give you a answerer. I would imagine the towing capacity is about 2500lbs

Answer: GM no longer makes a minivan. Neither does Ford. The Caravan and Town and Country do not have avail AWD for the 2008. If you must have it, I guess you buy an import(and that sucks) But with our Stow and Go seating and storage system, the AWD transaxle would not fit. The cars do have an electronic stability program that includes an advanced all speed traction control system. Check it out before you jump into a rice burner, please.
Question: How do I find what my vehicle has installed using the Vehicle Identification Number?
I know it was possible to use the vin to determine engine, trans, etc in old vehicle motor manuals (the vehicle is a 2008 Chevy Uplander.
Answer: ANy Chev or GM dealer can run the VIN, and give you a copy of the build sheet, also being a 2008 they might have the window sticker, and it should be on your contract if bought new.

my dad is planning to purchase a 2008 Chevorlet uplander and so far everythings good except he doesn't understand what a manual rear quarter swing out glass is?this is for package 2008 Retail Chevrolet Uplander Ext WB LT1 if this helps.Can anyone tell me what those rear glass thingys are it would make my dad happy peace :]
Answer: they have three rows of windows driver, passenger and the rear quarter panels. Not the rear window but the last window on each side.
these are hinged at the front an have a clamp that opens & allows you to open the window a few inches. On some vehicles this in an electronic window but since it says "manual" swing out glass you have to do it buy hand.
this way you can open your front windows or have the vent on and the air will be drawn out the back.
they have these windows on many mini vans and trucks with extra cabs. you have to make sure they are either fully open or shut if they are in between they will flap or rattle.
it's more convenient if they are electric but that usually means buying a package or options group for more money.

Question: My Car Wont Start After a Cold Night?
So I drive a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander (It was new when we got it) The other day I left it a day without driving it and a Night (about -10C Max) The next day when i tried to turn her over, nothing not a light, noise nothing.... This has happened once in the past... i had to call roadside assistance to come boost her lastt night Once again it is 930 am and I tried turning her on to no avail she was only boosted last night and 1 night at -5 c she Wont Turn on... Whats the possibilities of problems with my car??? Nothing was left on or plugged in.....
It Was The Battery..... The CCA Was 0 :p So..... Because the Van is a Leased Vehicle Everything is Covered for the 4 years and up to 100'000km. Battwery Was Replaced The Car is all good again....
Answer: You either have a drain on the battery or a bad battery. Since it's a 2008, bring it back to the dealer since it will be covered under warranty.
