2008 Chevy Trailblazer Introduction
The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size SUV produced by the Chevrolet division of American automaker General Motors. It was introduced in 1999 as an upscale trim line of the Blazer. In 2002, the TrailBlazer was upgraded to a new platform (GMT360 for 5 passenger models, GMT370 for 7 passenger, and GMT305 for the Envoy XUV). Production of the Blazer overlapped with the TrailBlazer until 2005, when the 2-door was sold at dealers while the 4-door was fleet only (until the 2004 model year).
The TrailBlazer won the North American Truck of the Year award in 2002. The 4.2 L I6 Atlas LL8 won Ward's Best Engine from 2002-2004 with innovative features such as DOHC, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) on the exhaust camshaft, and GM's Patented "Lost-Foam" casting process.
The TrailBlazer is based on a truck platform, with all models having four-wheel drive as an option with both automatic engagement and the more traditional "4 High" and "4 Low" gearings. Its main disadvantage is its increased width (as compared to a Jeep Wrangler) and lack of suspension travel, causing it to high side when it encounters high-camber-variance terrain or large rocks. Additionally, it lacks either locking hubs or a limited slip differential. Instead a G80 locking rear differential is available as an option on all models except for the SS which has a G86 LSD standard.
2006-2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
The TrailBlazer was facelifted for 2006. A new front fascia and interior trim were included with the refresh, but only apply to the upper-level LT models. The LS trim still has the 02-05 front and rear fascias. The SS gets trim-specific front and rear fascias plus colormatched side skirts.
The TrailBlazer comes with a 291 hp (217 kW) 277 lb·ft (376 N·m) all-aluminum 4.2 L "Atlas" LL8 inline-six engine standard and an optional 302 hp (225 kW) 330 lb·ft (447 N·m) aluminum small-block 5.3 L V8 with Active Fuel Management. The inline-six makes the TrailBlazer the most powerful six-cylinder SUV in its class. The Active Fuel Management system on the V8 engine shuts off 4 of the 8 cylinders during highway travel and idle to save fuel. The 6-cylinder versions of the TrailBlazer get up to 20 miles per US gallon (12 L/100 km; 24 mpg-imp) highway, according to refreshed United States Environmental Protection Agency%u200E estimates.

2008 Chevy Trailblazer FAQ
Question: Is there a cheap way to tune my 2008 Trailblazer SS?
I want to give my 2008 Trailblazer SS a performance tune. All I have found are programmers that sell for around $400. I am looking to spend alot less. Anyone have suggestions?
Answer: high performance plugs and wires about $140 (call Summit) and also a cold air intake, K&N is a good one about $250.
Question: Where is the iPod "AUX" jack on the 2008 Chevy Trailblazer?
I am borrowing my brother's new 2008 Trailblazer (same as Envoy). It's the "middle" model with leather and moonroof but doesn't have memory seat, heated seat or power passenger seat.
Anyway, there is clearly an aux button on the radio, but I can't figure out where to plug in the iPod. Where is the jack??? Just about every car has one these days and with the AUX on the button I can't imagine GM would not have one too and be behind the curve.
Answer: it should be around the stereo.
Question: 20 inch rims for 2008 Chevy Trailblazer 1LT 4wd?
I want to change the factory rims on my 2008 Trailblazer but don't want to mess with the dynamics of the car. Can I change to 17 inch aftermarket rims and keep the same factory tires on the car? Can I increase to 18 inch rims and tires? Or can I go to 20 inch rims and tires? Should I have the dealer install the new ones or take it some place else? Please help. Thanks
Answer: changing the wheel size will always change the dynamics of a vehicle. larger wheels and tire increase the unstrung weight on the suspension and braking. a lot of people find out that the ride of the vehicle becomes stiffer, caused by larger wheels with lower profile tires. most people don't get larger brake rotors and calipers, causing increase of braking distance. anything over 20 inch wheels, the vehicle has less weight capacity. any good tire shop can do this work for you
Question: Will the shape of the 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer change?
If yes, then which website could i go to in order to have a look?
Answer: No major changes for 08
Question: I have a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer SS that has a bad problem?
The vehicle leans to the right on both the front and rear-about 1 inch both ways. Has anyone else had this problem. My vehicle has not been damaged(not by myself anyway)
Answer: The trim height has to be adjusted...
Luckily you're still under factory warranty, so make an appointment with your local Chevy dealership and take the truck in for service so that a trained GM tech can diagnose and repair.
Question: How much should an oil change cost for 2008 trailblazer ss?
Answer: just depends on where you choose to take it and what type of oil you choose to put in it. Some places will do a standard oil change for as low as 16.95. some places charge 35. You will pay higher prices if you go with synthetic or a synthetic blend because they are more expensive oils. If you have time, you really should go it yourself: it is very easy, much cheaper, and you know that it is done right.
Question: 2008 Trailblazer owners! Can you please help me?
I just bought a used 2008 Chevy Trailblazer with the 4.2 6 cylinder engine. I was showing it to a guy friend of mine and he was looking under the hood and said i had a problem! He said that there is a hose clamp missing from the air intake towards the air filter box. It has a clamp on the engine side of the hose but not the other end, I looked at it and to me it looks like it is made that way as the other end of the hose has these little things sticking up all around it so a clamp won't fit anyway . Please look at your engine and see if it looks like mine, and if posible post a link to a picture of your engine, thanks.
Answer: I would take it back to the dealer.
You should not have to worry about such trivial issues, on a brand new vehicle.....
Question: Is the 2008 Trailblazer lt a 7 passanger suv?
Answer: they dont think of the big people
Im 6'4" and so isnt my brother and dad
we wouldnt be able to get in there with 4 other people
Question: I just fiananced a 2008 chevy trailblazer 2 months ago 8.90 interest rate l.Can i negotiate another contract ?
Answer: I hope you got it used the book is terrible on the 2008 Trailblazers. I am selling a 2008 Lt with 11000 miles for $16500. If you owe more than the trailblazer books for the banks are less likely to refinance you. I would talk to a local bank or credit union and they might be able to help you out. You can negotiate with the current loan company you have a signed deal with them why would they change it now?
Question: 2008 Ford Explorer vs 2008 Chevy Trailblazer?
About to buy one of the two above SUVs - base models but 4x4 V6. Any opinions or advice as to which to pick?
Answer: go with chevy on this, fuel economy and power is so much better.
