2008 Dodge Charger

Question: What are the visible body differences between the 2006 through 2008 Dodge Charger?
I'm planning on getting a used Dodge Charger SRT8 and I'm not sure if there are any noticeable differences between the 2006-2008 models.

At a glance they appear to be almost exactly a like.

Does anybody know for sure what the differences are? I'm keen to fine details and w/e. Lights, fog lamps, the works. If there's anything different I want to know about it. Thanks =)

Answer: I don't believe there were any major differences in exterior appearance. 2008 was the first year for HID lights as an option. 2008 was also the first year for using the Mercedes style key.

From what I've read, 2006 had some problems with transmissions leaking and shifting. These seem to have been worked out in later years.

There are options for wheels, sunroof and a few other things that may make individual cars appear different. When you put your foot down, it wont matter if there are minor differences. The big Hemi is a blast to drive.

Question: How fast can the stock 2008 Dodge Charger go off of the lot?
Do you know how fast the 2008 dodge charger can reach? I mean how high the spedometer goes? My explorer only goes to 120 do you know what the Chargers goes to? THANK YOU

Answer: 160mph shouldnt drive faster than speed limits

We want a 2008 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T but the only color that we can find is orange.

Answer: For 2008, the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T only comes in Hemi Orange.

In past years, the colors were
2007 - Plum Crazy (purple)
2007 - Sublime (green)
2006 - Top Banana (yellow)
2006 - GoMango (orange)
2006 - TorRed (fire engine red)

Question: How to add horse-power to 2008 Dodge Charger?
I have a 2008 Dodge Charger (base) with a 2.7 liter V6 (I know, small) but I bought it already and want to add some horsepower to the car to make it a little more peppy. Could someone please provide me with a list of things I can do and buy for the vehicle to make it go much better?

Answer: there's not really a lot available for ht 2.7 in the,line of performance parts,Chrysler just don't look at the 2.7 as being anything that can be made in to a power house,the most you can do is add better exhaust and maybe improve on the air intake system,you can spend a thousand bucks on that one and still not be satisfied with horse power,good luck.

Question: How long to order a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8?
I'm looking to get a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8. I live in Georgia and according to the dodge website there isn't one on a lot within 300 miles. I called a couple of dealerships and they said they could get me one in a couple of days. Does this sound right? If I put down a deposit, how long until they would actually have it. Also, are they going for MSRP or more?

Answer: Yeah that is about right. A dealer usually has agreements with other dealers and they pull one off another dealer's lot or just order one, but a few days sounds normal. The most you should have to wait is two weeks.

As for price, depends on the dealer. They may mark it up a bit from MSRP. Could be a few thousand more than MSRP, but then again you could find a good dealer that won't. It's a toss up either way. You can negotiate on the price even before you order it.

Question: Anyone have any issues with a 2008 Dodge Charger?
I'm looking into buying a 2008 Dodge Charger but I'd like to know what common things break on it? Or if there's been any problems with them?

Answer: No problems with the transmissions, contrary to what the other uninformed posters said. The transmission is a Mercedes supplied transmission that is used in their cars. They are well built cars with decent interiors.

But I'm think about gas grade for this car!I didnt know it's required with premium gas or regular gas?

Answer: 89 for the SXT is recommended, but if you run 87, the car's computer will notice the difference and adjust for it, so it'll be fine. Don't bother will going to 91. The biggest myth in car ownership - that running a higher octane fuel increases performance. It doesn't. Octane refers to the resistence to detonation, not how much more powerful it makes your engine.

Question: Is a 2007 0r 2008 Dodge Charger SE a good car for a teenager?
So is the Charger a good first car. If not, could you say which is would be a good choice. But it has to be new.

Answer: the Charger is a good car...the SE is the base model...2.7 V6....reliable, decent gas mileage and not a race car.

the Altima people mentioned is a fairly quick car...the last thing i want my teenager to have is a sporty fast car.

the Charger is big, safe and an all around decent choice.
