It is way past its time. To see children dying in the USA because they don't have insurance is crazy. To have a bean counter decide if the physician has the right diagnosis, and thus, can order the proper investigations is stupid. A physician needs to be allowed to order what is appropriate; this is not a bean counters job, unless they are also an MD...and then that is not insurance but a quality assurance program, which protects the tax dollars and the patient. If you need help organizing this system, see me...I now practice in a country with access for all and it works, paid by tax dollars.

YES! AND we need to over-throw the current politicians in Washington and at the state level. Our problems are because of self-interest groups and Greedy Politicians who listen and take the money. This can be applied to the existing people running for office.
OUR founding fathers did not intend for politicians to make a Career out of serving "The People".
I am a "Super Voter" why doesn't my vote count? The Electorial College should be dissolved. Maybe back in the day of NO communications you needed this but today? DUH!

Both this country and the rest of the globe needs a major change in politics. People are tired from listening to bad news. Why we never learn from the past.

Yes. If it's good enough for rich, corrupt government officials, it's good enough for the rest of us. They control almost everything else (what our children can and cannot learn in school, what drugs you can & cannot put in your own body, what countries we go to war with (legal or not), seatbelts, where our tax money goes, and on and on and on) Healthcare should be number one since it effects everything about us. Too much money is involved with the current private system and it's been abused for years at the expense of our health.

Absolutely, what's good enough for Congress is good enough for me. Why should the richest country in the world, the USA, have healthcare only slightly better than Slovenia's?

No Way!

I am one of those uninsured Americans you hear about. I have recently had some severe medical problems and have thousands of dollars worth of medical bills that I can not pay. It has destroyed my personal credit and affected my sense of self worth. But, while I understand the appeal of such a program, I have yet to see a plan put forward that would accomplish more good than bad. Canada and Britain are frequently used as examples of an exemplary health care plan. But my family came from Canada. Many still live there. And while they love their country, there are two things that they will cross the border for: American soda pop and serious medical care. The government plan has made it difficult to achieve the same advances in technology there by removing a portion of the incentive, namely profit on the part of the people who do the inventing and research. I hate my situation, but the alternatives proposed just fall short.

No way! Look what a mess the Govt. made with the Depts. of Education, energy and housing, only to name a few. I believe in Freedom of choice in healthcare providers and people taking responsibility for their own lifestyle choices.

If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until the Democrats get their hands in it.
Socialized medicine hasn't worked too well anywhere else, why do people think it will work here?

Not if it's mandated! We should have the right to choose. I've lost all faith in our health care system and doctors. I prefer natural alternatives and real education to prevent disease.

The Electoral Vote
About the United States Electoral College
The Electoral College is the term used to refer to those who officially elect the President and Vice President of the United States.
Rather than directly voting for the President and Vice President, U.S. citizens cast votes for electors. While each elector is technically free to vote for anyone eligible to be President, in practice each elector votes for the specific candidate to whom that elector is pledged. In the overwhelmingly majority of cases they do vote for the candidate to whom they are...
