    Very cool... I teach a world myth course to elementary-age homeschoolers, and in one unit we do research on our Chinese astrology animals... I am going to put your lens down as a resource in my hand outs. Nice job!

    No joke rats have been given a bad rap in the western world. I live in Alberta Canada and rats are illegal here. Thats right Alberta is the only place in the world that is rat free.

    My friend is a Rat and just had a baby daughter who's also a Rat (they're 36 years apart). :)

    You know, also from the same legend you mentioned, the rat and cat are suppose to be good friends and they decided to attend Jade Emperor's invitation together. However what happened was the rat forgets about the promises and did not wake up the cat on the match day - which explains why cat is not included in the Chinese zodiac (and why cat hates rat a lot in reality) :)

    Wow a great lens - 5 *****. You covered just about everything Rat and then some. Nice job.

    Ratatouille is really very good. It was a while ago a very popular dish for lunch is a lot of English pubs, served with freshly baked French bread... Yumm...

    One rat I didn't see listed (so you probably don't know about it) is Roland Rat. He featured in a children's TV show in England a few years ago.

    Hi quippingqueen, Great rat info. I like rats. I had a white rat for a pet as a child. It's name was snowball - hey, I was in grade school at the time so I didn't get too imaginative with the name :) I like the Cuddly Critter Flickr Collection, especially the baby rat on the right. ~Music Resource~

    Yes it is the year of the RAT (Rider Association of Triumph)! Definitely not the year of the HOG (Harley Owners group).
