2009 Chevy Corvette Introduction
The Corvette variant now officially known as the ZR1 was first reported by several print and online publications who were speculating that Chevrolet was developing a super high performance production version of the Corvette and were internally calling it "Blue Devil" (named after GM CEO Rick Wagoner's alma mater, Duke University). Wagoner is quoted as saying, "I wonder what they can do for 100,000 dollars?" during a GM board meeting speaking about Chevrolet designers. The production version debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show and will be available as a 2009 model.

The ZR1 was formally announced in a December 2007 press statement by General Motors, where it was revealed that their target of 100 horsepower/liter (1.64 hp/cu in) has been reached by a new "LS9" engine, an Eaton-supercharged 6.2-liter engine producing a confirmed 638 hp (476 kW) and 604 foot-pounds force (819 N·m) of torque with a sticker price of about US $100,000. The engine is the most powerful engine to be put in an American production sports car.[12] Top speed is 205 mph (330 km/h). Along with an improved motor, the ZR1 also comes with extensive carbon-fiber body parts, including (but not limited to) wider fenders, the hood, roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter and rocker moldings. However, the car is heavier and more front weight biased than the Z06 because of the supercharger, with a weight distribution of 52% at the front and 48% at the rear. Tires were also increased in diameter and width, along with bigger and stronger brakes, adjustable suspension, and optional chrome wheels and a premium interior package.
Spy photos from recent hot laps at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, following the 2007 American Le Mans Series final race, show the ZR1 to have carbon-ceramic brakes, extensive carbon fiber (front quarterpanels, A- and B- pillars, as well as the roof and possibly other body panels), and a full-width rear lip spoiler.

Question: How much would it cost to insure my 16 year old son with a 2009 corvette?
I know i am spoiling him rotten so don't give me any flaque, I just would like to get an idea of what it will cost per month? I am very curios. I make plenty of money per month to cover it so don't tell me to be a money saver.
Answer: over 2G's annually...although i suggest that you include him instead in your insurance, and put him as the primary driver on that car.

the 2000 camaro zl-1 is the fastest camaro ever built (besides the 1969 camaro zl-1), and the 2009 corvette zr-1 is the fastest corvette ever built, i just would like to see all your opinions of which car is faster and better.
Answer: Well it's kind of apples and oranges. The 2000 ZL-1 was a R&D concept car with a 14:1 compression 572. It was basically a drag car built by GM's specialty vehicle division. I actually saw that car make a pass at Super Chevy Indy and it ran low 10 second 1/4 mile times (10.30 I think). The ZR-1 runs 11.3 second 1/4 mile. The ZL-1 is considerably quicker than the ZR-1 and likely also comparable on the top end, but like I said you are comparing a race prepped R&D car to a production car.
Question: Is the 2009 corvette the last year. I work for dodge and heard that but I dont believe it.?
Answer: no its not true ,someone started a rumor on it though,but gm has no plans on killing the corvette just yet,even though sales was down on it some,they wont do away with it,someone always starts rumors like this about something though,good luck

Answer: Sorry to say the auto transmission is not a option on the 2009 Z-06 corvette only a 6 speed manual.Best of luck.
