We picked a diverse group of lenses that were awarded Purple Stars in 2009. These choices were not based on lensrank or algorithms or even on bribery, but based on a recipe of content, generosity, creativity and usefulness and then we turned the voting over to YOU.

- I'm feeling a bit like a bear that's been hibernating and just emerged from it's den after a long winter's nap. I took a break from all of my online adventures over the holidays and was just plain lazy. It was awesome to free myself from the computer while the kids were home, but I am ashamed that I missed the opportunity to thank everyone for voting for my lens in a timely manner. I am so incredibly honored and grateful to be the winner of the Best Squidoo Lens. I am proud to be a member of this community and the opportunity to become to work at home mom doing something I love so much. Thank you, Squidoo!!

- Being nominated was honour enough. To have actually won the award for the Best Book/Author Lens is the icing on the cake and a dream come true. Thank you Squidoo for making this one of the best christmas gift. Thanks once again!! - Oh my Goodness! Thank you so much for the honor of winning in the Best Baking Lens category. Incidentally, I have to take time off from my beloved Squidoo scene because I'm opening a Bavarian restaurant in Austin, Texas. It's called "Ilsa's Kitchen" and we'll serve all the fine foods from my winning lens about "Bavarian Breakfast Foods". What great timing for this honor and what a nice Christmas present from my dear Squidoo buddies. Thank you all for your friendship.
