Jobs Loses of 2008 and 2009 and their effects on people.

I felt compeled to create this lens because the unemployment rate during this recession has personally effected many people that I know and myself as well. My goal here is the get people actively involved with this topic and to hopefully get the word out to the world about the turmoil caused by this recession. It would satisfy me to see things change because of you and I speaking out loud about it.

Be sure to visit the "comment" section of this lens and post your thoughts on our economic down fall. Don't hold anything back, as long as it's related to this topic.

What to do about a layoff.

Understanding your options

Layoffs are comon among businesses since the recession began in our country in 2006. Since then the unemployment has sky rocketed to an unimaginable number and 2009 is not going to be an exception.

To prepare yourself for a possible layoff, you need to know what is available to you for financial support as well as resources to find new employment. First off all, if you are laid off the first thing you do is go to the unemployment office near you to talk with a representative in reference to filing unemployment benefits. Doing this will send a little money your way until you get another job.

The next thing to do is start looking for a job obviously. Don't waste any time after a lay off before you start looking. The day of or shortly after is the best time to find another job. Check out the newspaper classifieds or online classifieds such as craigslist and careerbuilder. Get back out there and keep your head up. Our country will come back around for the better.

To make your job search easier, I am going to include a link here that directs to an online recruitment service. Don't worry, it's free and they will not bombard you at all. It's actually the same service I used to find my current job. Go to Climber Dot Com and sign up. This will assist you in your search.

Tell everyone your thoughts about our Country's recession and Job Loses

No holds barred. Just say it.

I believe that there will be only a few thrivin careers that do not get hit with large job losses in 2009. Trucking is possibly the strongest industry on this country. Reason is that consumers, no matter how broke they are, will still keep consuming thus requiring trucks to deliver the goods. Keep rolling guys and gals!

This also could be a possible career change for you. Here is a cool blog that has links to ways on becoming a truck driver. http://truckerweekly.blogspot.com
